The Valley PS. 23:4 #RTTBROS #Nightlight
The Valley
"Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me." (Psalm 23:4 KJV)
In life, we all experience exhilarating mountain top moments where everything is clear and our perspective is broad. We feel God's presence tangibly. The path ahead seems smooth and hope abounds. But we also inevitably go through dark valleys filled with shadow and uncertainty. The way forward appears murky and we feel alone or afraid.
When standing on the mountain peak, we can look down and see how far we've come. The valley that once loomed large now seems small from this vantage point. We're reminded of God's faithfulness in the past and gain courage to keep climbing, even when the terrain gets steep again.
In contrast, when we're deep in the valley, we look up and see rays of light filtering through the darkness. We're reminded that the sun still shines even when we can't always see it. Though the valley feels vast and foreboding from below, the sky above speaks of hope. God's light remains.
The Shepherd walks with us through every mountain top and shadowed valley. His rod and staff protect and guide us, bringing comfort when we need it most. He lights our path even in the darkest times when we can't see what's around the next bend. We may not know what's coming, but we know who goes with us - the One who conquered even death.
So keep looking up, dear one. Morning comes. The valley is not our home. God leads us tenderly through valleys but always back up to the mountain's crest in His perfect timing. Take heart today.
