RESTORED Joel 2:25-27   #RTTBROS  #Nightlight

And I will restore to you the years that the locust hath eaten, the cankerworm, and the caterpiller, and the palmerworm, my great army which I sent among you. And ye shall eat in plenty, and be satisfied, and praise the name of the LORD your God, that hath dealt wondrously with you: and my people shall never be ashamed. And ye shall know that I am in the midst of Israel, and that I am the LORD your God, and none else: and my people shall never be ashamed

JOEL 2: 25-27

Sometimes in life we face difficulties and hardships that can feel like swarming locusts, devouring and destroying the blessings and joys we once knew. Our hearts break as we look around at the ruin and decay, wondering if restoration could ever come. Yet God in His mercy promises that He "will restore to you the years that the locust hath eaten" (Joel 2:25). Though weeping may endure for a night, joy comes in the morning light of God's redemption.

As Adrian Rogers said, "God not only restores, but He gives back more than the devil ever took!" The blessings ahead are always greater than those behind. We serve a God of abundance who specializes in bringing beauty from ashes, life from death. He makes all things new.

What wondrous love is this? As Charles Spurgeon declared, "God's restorations are not simple repairs, but resurrections." The same God who raises Jesus from the grave also raises us up from gloom to joy. He revives, renews, and regenerates.

Even when locusts swarm and crops fail, God's people shall "eat in plenty, and be satisfied, and praise the name of the LORD" who has "dealt wondrously" with them (v. 26). As we dwell in His presence, we "shall know that I am in the midst" and "my people shall never be ashamed" (v. 27). Hallelujah!

Our merciful God brings full restoration. He satisfies our souls with His steadfast love. Even in life's bleakest winters, we can trust His renewing spring is coming. Praise the name of the Lord who turns our mourning into everlasting joy!
