Revive your passion  Rev 2:4-7 #Nightlight #RTTBROS #RevelationRevealed part 7

Revelation 2:4-7 KJVS - Nevertheless I have somewhat against thee, because thou hast left thy first love.
5 Remember therefore from whence thou art fallen, and repent, and do the first works; or else I will come unto thee quickly, and will remove thy candlestick out of his place, except thou repent.
6 But this thou hast, that thou hatest the deeds of the Nicolaitans, which I also hate.
7 He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches; To him that overcometh will I give to eat of the tree of life, which is in the midst of the paradise of God

Oh, church of Ephesus, the Lord Jesus himself has been walking among your lampstands. He knows your toil, your perseverance, your rejection of wickedness. But the piercing eyes of Christ have discerned a fatal flaw - you have abandoned your first love!

What convicting words to rouse our souls! Have we also left our first love? The ardor that burned within us has faded to a flicker. Our hearts, once aflame with devotion, now pump cold religious routine through our veins.

Christ remembers the heights from which we have fallen. He recalls the days when we were newly saved, when grace amazed us, when we poured over the Scriptures. He remembers our childlike awe, our joyous wonder at his sacrifice. But now our love has grown drowsy, indifferent, mechanical. Other passions have crowded out our devotion to the Savior.

Oh child of God, hear the voice of Jesus calling you to return to your first love once more! Reflect, remember, repent! Examine your heart - have lesser loves supplanted the place of Christ? Has your communion with him become lifeless habit? Fan the fading embers of your love back into flame! Fix your gaze again upon the blood-stained cross! Marvel at his mercy, plunge again into his word, rediscover the glory of his grace!

Jesus urges us onward, his promises sustaining us. Though we often stumble, he remains faithful. Keep looking unto Jesus as you run the race marked out for you. Persevere in devotion to him all your days, that you may finally eat of the tree of life in paradise.

Lord Jesus, forgive our dull hearts and cold love. Burn within us with holy fire once more, that we would return to our first love. Consume our thoughts with passion for you, that you alone would have our highest adoration and deepest affection.
