Perfect Peace Isa 26:3 #Nightlight #RTTBROS

Perfect Peace Isa 26:3 #Nightlight #RTTBROS

Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee." Isaiah 26:3 (KJV)

Life pulls us in many directions. Between work, family, and other responsibilities, our minds get cluttered with anxious thoughts. But Isaiah promises that when we keep our minds fixed on God, He will give us perfect peace.

A busy college student named James felt overwhelmed with papers, exams, and extracurriculars. He was stretched thin and anxious. Over winter break, James committed to starting each morning in Scripture and prayer. As he focused his mind on God's Word, James felt calm and confident even amidst the pressures of school. Staying his mind on Christ brought deep peace

Like James, I know what it's like to have a cluttered mind. When I start my day reading Scripture, I am reminded of God's presence and power. Fixing my thoughts on Him fills me with calm assurance for the day ahead. But if I neglect time in the Word, fretful thoughts quickly creep in. Just as Isaiah said, I experience God's perfect peace when my mind is stayed on Him.

No matter what demands we face, Jesus offers rest for our souls. By training our minds to focus on God's truth, we can rise above the noise and distractions of life. setting aside quiet time to fix our minds on the Lord allows His peace to rule in our hearts. May we, like the psalmist, declare: "7 My heart is fixed, O God, my heart is fixed: I will sing and give praise!" (Psalm 57:7) As we keep our minds stayed on God, He will keep us in perfect peace.

Look To The Lord Ps. 27:1 #Nightlight #RTTB

Look To The Lord Ps. 27:1 #Nightlight #RTTBROS

The Lord is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear?" Psalm 27:1. This powerful verse reminds us that with God on our side, we have no need to fear. When we walk with Him daily, keeping our eyes fixed on Jesus, He illuminates our path, showing us which way to go (Psalm 119:105). Even in life's darkest valleys, we can trust Him to lead us, one step at a time.

Though fears and doubts may arise, we can remember that God has provided salvation through His Son. "For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life" (John 3:16). When we believe in Jesus, trusting Him as Lord of our lives, we receive the gift of eternal life with God. Knowing our future is secure, we do not need to be afraid.

On this life's journey, storms will come, but Jesus has overcome the world (John 16:33). He will never leave us nor forsake us (Hebrews 13:5), so we can boldly proclaim, "The Lord is my helper, and I will not fear what man shall do unto me" (Hebrews 13:6). Though enemies surround us, God is our refuge and strength (Psalm 46:1). Under the shadow of His wings we find shelter from every adversity (Psalm 91:1-2).

Fear and anxiety frequently overwhelm us in life's uncertainties. But as Adrian Rogers exhorted, “Either Jesus is Lord of all or He is not Lord at all!” When Jesus is truly Lord of our lives, we do not need to fear. He lights our path and provides salvation from every fear.

Turning Troubles into Triumphs James 1:2-3 #Nightlight #RTTBROS

Turning Troubles into Triumphs James 1:2-3 #Nightlight #RTTBROS

"My brethren, count it all joy when ye fall into divers temptations; Knowing this, that the trying of your faith worketh patience." (James 1:2-3 KJV)

Michael Cain was advised as a young actor to "use the difficulty" when a chair was left on the set blocking his entrance. This he applied to his personal life where he would look at any difficulty and ask how can I use this?

Life is full of difficulties. We all face troubles and trials that can feel overwhelming. Yet God tells us not to despair in these times, but to actually count them as joy! Why? Because He can use every struggle to strengthen and refine us.

The next time you face an obstacle that seems to block your way, don't get discouraged. Instead ask yourself, "How can I use this?" Look for ways this difficulty can build your character, teach you lessons, or redirect you towards God's best. With His help, you can turn troubles into triumphs!

Difficult people and relationships? Use them to grow in patience and understanding. Financial hardship? Use it to deepen your trust in God as provider. Health issues? Use them to refine your priorities and draw closer to God. He promises that if we trust Him through trials, our faith will emerge stronger.

So don't run from problems - use them! Allow God to use every challenge to transform you into the person He created you to be. Instead of asking "Why is this happening to me?" ask "How can I use this to become more like Christ?" God can turn any stumbling block into a stepping stone for your life.

No matter what you face today, choose to see it as an opportunity, not an obstacle. With God's help, you can use any difficulty to sharpen your character, strengthen your faith, and take steps towards His purposes for you. You may be surprised at what He can accomplish in and through you when you learn to use difficulties rather than fight them. God can turn your troubles into triumphs as you trust in Him!

The GPS That Never Fails Ps 119;105 Episode 77 season 12

The GPS That Never Fails Ps 119;105 Episode 77 season 12

The GPS That Never Fails

"Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path." (Psalm 119:105)

How often do we try to navigate life relying on our own limited instincts? We journey down uncertain roads, fumbling in darkness, and before long find ourselves utterly lost. Yet God has given us a foolproof GPS that promises to lead us on the path of truth and life - His holy Word.

Unlike the faulty directions of this world, the Bible never fails. Its words span millennia yet remain relevant, anchoring us through every storm and guiding us to our ultimate destination - eternity with Christ. As the psalmist declares, God's Word lights our way as a lamp in the darkness, illuminating each step we take.

When facing crossroads, we need only consult the Scriptures to receive clear direction from the Lord's own mouth. Even when the journey grows weary and temptations abound, this GPS continues speaking truth, correcting our course and bringing us back to the way everlasting.

As believers, we can feel secure knowing every twist and turn on the road ahead has already been measured. Our Savior knows the end from the beginning, and His Word charts the course into His loving arms. We need only trust and obey.

So let's plug into God's never-failing GPS daily. With the Scriptures lighting our path, we travel on a straight and narrow road leading to the glorious kingdom of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. The journey is safe in His hands

WHEN LIFE FAILS YOU Ps. 27:1 #Nightlight #RTTBROS

WHEN LIFE FAILS YOU Ps. 27:1 #Nightlight #RTTBROS

The Lord is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear? the Lord is the strength of my life; of whom shall I be afraid?" (Psalms 27:1 KJV)

When life fails us, it can feel like we are lost in darkness and overwhelmed by fear. Yet God promises to be our light and salvation in times of trouble. As children of the Most High God, we have no need to be afraid even when storms rage around us.

Trials will surely come, but Jesus assures us that He has overcome the world (John 16:33). Though weeping may endure for the night, joy comes in the morning (Psalm 30:5). We can rejoice that our pain is temporary, but our hope in Christ is eternal.

Rather than relying on our own wisdom, we must seek God's guidance through fervent prayer. The Lord promises that if we ask, it shall be given to us (Matthew 7:7). His perfect plan is often revealed slowly, as we walk hand in hand with Him through the valley.

Even when we feel abandoned or that our prayers are unheard, God remains sovereign. His timing and purposes are flawless, though we may not understand them. As we yield our anxieties to Christ day by day, He fills us supernatural peace and strength.

Our trials testify to God's faithfulness. Each storm weathered is another chance to proclaim His goodness. None of our pain is wasted when we allow it to refine our faith and draw us closer to the Father.

Keep your eyes fixed on Jesus, the Author and Perfecter of our faith. He will never leave you nor forsake you (Deuteronomy 31:6). Take heart - He has overcome the world, and you shall overcome through Him!

300 Pound Scale Psalms 139:13-14 #Nightlight #RTTBROS

300 Pound Scale Psalms 139:13-14 #Nightlight #RTTBROS

"For you formed my inward parts; you knitted me together in my mother's womb. I praise you, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made." Psalm 139:13-14

The number flashing in bright red on the scale was discouraging - 300 pounds. As I stepped off and looked in the mirror, all I could see were my flaws - the extra weight, the tired eyes, the wrinkles forming. In my mind, the verdict was clear: I didn't measure up.

Our worth is often quantified by scales - scales of achievement, beauty, wealth, status. But there is a fundamental problem with these scales: they are calibrated by the world's standards, not God's design. As Psalm 139 reminds us, we are "fearfully and wonderfully made" by our Creator. Our value was established before we drew our first breath.

So let us reject the scales of this world and embrace how God sees us. He knit us together, flaws and all, and called us His beloved child. There is no number high enough to quantify our worth in His eyes. We are cherished, we are treasured - we are priceless. The only scale that matters is the one that begins and ends with His love.

Dear God, help me to find my worth in You alone. When I am tempted to measure my value by the world's standards, lead me back to Your truth. Remind me that I am beautifully and wonderfully made. Amen.

Mastering the Minutes Prov 6:6-11#Nightlight #RTTBROS

Mastering the Minutes Prov 6:6-11#Nightlight #RTTBROS

Proverbs 6:6-11 (KJV) says, "Go to the ant, thou sluggard; consider her ways, and be wise: Which having no guide, overseer, or ruler, provideth her meat in the summer, and gathereth her food in the harvest. How long wilt thou sleep, O sluggard? when wilt thou arise out of thy sleep? Yet a little sleep, a little slumber, a little folding of the hands to sleep: So shall thy poverty come as one that travelleth, and thy want as an armed man."

This passage speaks to the importance of diligence and hard work. The ant is a small creature, but it is wise and diligent in gathering food during the summer and harvest seasons. It does not need a guide, overseer, or ruler to tell it what to do. It simply knows what needs to be done and does it.

The concept of "Master the minutes and the months and years will take care of themselves" is all about focusing on the present moment and making the most of it. We cannot control the future, but we can control what we do with our time right now. By mastering our minutes, we are taking control of our lives and setting ourselves up for success in the future.

In the passage from Proverbs, the sluggard is warned about the consequences of his laziness. He is told that his poverty will come upon him like an armed man. This is a powerful image that reminds us of the importance of being diligent and hardworking. We cannot afford to be lazy or complacent, for this will lead to our downfall.

But if we are willing to put in the hard work and effort required, we can achieve great things. We can build successful careers, create strong relationships, and make a positive impact on the world around us. All of this starts with mastering our minutes and making the most of every opportunity that comes our way.

So let us take this lesson to heart and commit ourselves to being diligent and hardworking. Let us focus on the present moment and make the most of every opportunity that comes our way. By doing so, we can trust that God will take care of the months and years ahead, and we will be able to achieve the success and prosperity that we desire.

When You Don't Understand Pro. 3:5-6 #Nightlight #RTTBROS

When You Don't Understand Pro. 3:5-6 #Nightlight #RTTBROS

"Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths." Proverbs 3:5-6

We often try to figure life out on our own, relying on our limited human understanding. But as Adrian Rogers said, "God doesn't give explanations; He gives promises." Rather than demanding explanations from God, we must trust Him completely, acknowledging Him in all our ways. Even when life doesn't make sense, we can trust that God is directing our paths.

A woman named Amy struggled to trust God after her young son was diagnosed with leukemia. She couldn't understand why God would allow this to happen. But a friend encouraged Amy to lay her need for explanations at God's feet. As Amy learned to fully trust God rather than relying on her own understanding, she found incredible peace and strength to walk with her son through his illness.

Wake UP Rev 3:1-6 #Nightlight #RTTBROS #RevelationRevealed RR10

Wake UP Rev 3:1-6  #Nightlight #RTTBROS #RevelationRevealed RR10

Revelation 3:2 KJVS - 2 Be watchful, and strengthen the things which remain, that are ready to die: for I have not found thy works perfect before God

The church in Sardis had a reputation for being alive and active, but Jesus saw through their outward appearance. He knew their works were incomplete, their witness lacked conviction, and their worship was becoming ritualistic. They thought they were spiritually vibrant, but they were really stagnating.

How often we're tempted to coast along in our faith, going through the motions without truly abiding in Christ. We can look great on the outside while neglecting the inner life. But no pretense fools the Lord's penetrating gaze. As Hebrews says, Nothing in all creation is hidden from God's sight (4:13).

Jesus called the church in Sardis to wake up, strengthen what was about to die, and remember the gospel they received. There was still hope if they turned from their complacency. The few who had not stained their clothes could walk with Jesus in white, clothed in His righteousness.

Let this warning shake us from slumber. The risen Christ sees our hearts. He wants us to fan into flame the gifts He gave us, pursuing Him with passion. We must continually return to the cross in repentance and faith. Only through the work of the Spirit can we live as His faithful witnesses. May our worship and service never become empty routine but the fruit of abiding in Him.

Distracted Living #Nightlight #RTTBROS "Looking unto Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith." Hebrews 12:2

Distracted Living #Nightlight #RTTBROS
"Looking unto Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith." Hebrews 12:2
It's easy to get distracted from what really matters in life. As Adrian Rogers wisely stated, “We must not let the things that matter most be at the mercy of the things that matter least.” Our focus should be on Jesus, not the trivial pursuits that clamor for our attention. Jesus is the author who writes the story of our life, and the finisher who makes our faith complete.

A businessman named Harold got so caught up in his work that it consumed him. He neglected his family and his spiritual life. One day, after missing an important recital for his daughter, Harold realized he had misplaced priorities. He recommitted to looking to Jesus first, rather than letting lesser things take priority. As Harold refocused on Christ, he found new perspective and purpose.

Work a four letter word? Prov 12:11 #Nightlight #RTTBROS

Work a four letter word? Prov 12:11   #Nightlight #RTTBROS

Work a four letter word? Prov 12:11 #Nightlight #RTTBROS

He that tilleth his land shall be satisfied with bread: but he t followeth vain persons is void of understanding-Proverbs 12:11

Though it may have originated in Russia, the origins of the childrens story The Little Red Hen are uncertain. This little parable describe hen who found some wheat seeds and invited the other barnyard anim to help her grow and harvest the wheat. Despite her repeated asking assistance, none of them are interested in planting, weeding, watering harvesting, milling, or baking. Yet when the delicious bread is finish they are more than happy to help eat it. Instead the Little Red Hen said "I'll eat it myself." She had done all of the work, and she deserved the satisfaction of reaping the fruit of her efforts.

Our society does not value work as it once did. There are man government programs providing funding for those who are unwilling t labor. (This is different than providing help for those who cannot hel themselves.) These programs produce a negative incentive. When there is no connection between work and reward, it is not hard to understand why people regard work as something to be avoided if at all possible Those who are able to work but refuse to do so cheat themselves of the satisfaction and accomplishment that comes from diligent labor.

Instead of drifting along with the culture, God's people should b shining examples of diligent workers. Whether or not the task is enjoyable or pays as much as we think it should, work is part of God's plan for our lives. We must remember that ultimately our labor is for the Lord, no our human boss, Colossians 3:23-24 admonishes, "And whatsoever ye do, do it heartily, as to the Lord, and not unto men; Knowing that of the Lord ye shall receive the reward of the inheritance: for ye serve the Lord Christ

Today's Word to the Wise: Do all of your work diligently, realizing that you rob yourself as well as others when you do less than your best.

Circle or Corner #Nightlight #RTTBROS

Episode 68 season 12
Circle or Corner #Nightlight #RTTBROS
Eat thou not the bread of him that hath an evil eye, neither der thon his dainty meats: For as he thinketh in his heart, so is he La and drink, saith he to thee; but his heart is not with thee. The mors which thou hast eaten shalt thou vomit up, and lose thy sweet word

-Proverbs 23:6-8
Paul Chapell writes about the Medici they were one of the most famous and powerful families of Italy during the Middle Ages. Their involvement in politics, religion, art, and science left a major impact on the entire world. They were known as a ruthless family, willing to do virtually anything to get their way-even in their dealings with each other. In 2007, scientists from the University of Florence unearthed the grave of Francesco de Medici, the Grand Duke of Tuscany. Their finding of highly elevated levels of arsenic in his bones and hair fragments gives credence to the rumor that he had been poisoned. It is very likely that the poisoner was his own brother, Cardinal Ferdanando de Medici, who wanted the title for himself and poisoned Francesco at a family meal.

Not every banquet that is set before you is safe to eat. The devil knows how powerful an attractive "meal" is in tempting us to sin. This approach worked in the very first temptation in the Garden of Eden: "And when the woman saw that the tree was good for food, and that it was pleasant to the eyes, and a tree to be desired to make one wise, she took of the fruit thereof, and did eat, and gave also unto her husband with her; and he did eat" (Genesis 3:6). Like a sports team running the same play again and again because the opponent hasn't adjusted, Satan continues to make sin look attractive to lure men and women to sin and destruction.

Today's Word to the Wise: Before you take the first bite, consider carefully who has prepared the food that is put before you.

Cling to Christ Rev 2:18-29#Nightlight #RTTBROS #RevelationRevealed RR9

Cling to Christ Rev 2:18-29#Nightlight #RTTBROS #RevelationRevealed RR9

Revelation 2:18-19 KJVS - 18 And unto the angel of the church in Thyatira write; These things saith the Son of God, who hath his eyes like unto a flame of fire, and his feet are like fine brass;
19 I know thy works, and charity, and service, and faith, and thy patience, and thy works; and the last to be more than the first

The church in Thyatira faced an onslaught of false teaching. A self-proclaimed prophetess promoted sexual immorality and idol worship, leading many believers astray. Her poisonous words undermined God's truth and tainted their community.

But Jesus saw beyond the surface struggles to the hearts of His faithful followers. He affirmed their "love, faith, service and perseverance" (v.19). Despite the surrounding darkness, rays of light still shone in Thyatira.

Christ encouraged them to hold unswervingly to Him, reminding them of His piercing eyes that see all. He searches minds, discerns motives, and judges each one's work (v.23). We cannot hide our sin from the One whose feet blaze like burnished bronze.

Just as Jesus exposed the false prophetess' wickedness, He also saw the faithful few who rejected her lies. To them He promised authority to rule the nations and the morning star (v.28) - Christ Himself, the One who rises like the dawn to scatter sin's dreadful night.

Take courage, believer. When immorality is called good and lies are upheld as truth, fix your eyes on Jesus. Cling to His commands. Patiently endure every hardship for His name's sake. Sin's pleasures quickly fade but its wages endure forever. The faithful will be rewarded with imperishable crowns. Stand strong. Jesus sees you, knows you, and loves you. He will soon make all things new.

Stand firm on God's truth when the culture is compromised and cling to Christ amidst corruption.

Faithful in a Fallen World Rev 2:12-17 #Nightlight #RTTBROS #RevelationRevealed RR8

Revelation 2:12-17 KJVS - 12 And to the angel of the church in Pergamos write; These things saith he which hath the sharp sword with two edges;
13 I know thy works, and where thou dwellest, even where Satan's seat is: and thou holdest fast my name, and hast not denied my faith, even in those days wherein Antipas was my faithful martyr, who was slain among you, where Satan dwelleth.
14 But I have a few things against thee, because thou hast there them that hold the doctrine of Balaam, who taught Balac to cast a stumblingblock before the children of Israel, to eat things sacrificed unto idols, and to commit fornication. 15 So hast thou also them that hold the doctrine of the Nicolaitans, which thing I hate.
16 Repent; or else I will come unto thee quickly, and will fight against them with the sword of my mouth.
17 He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches; To him that overcometh will I give to eat of the hidden manna, and will give him a white stone, and in the stone a new name written, which no man knoweth saving he that receiveth it.

The church in Pergamos was in a tough spot. They lived right in the middle of a bustling, pagan city filled with immorality and idol worship. It would have been so easy for them to get sucked into the ways of the world around them.

But Jesus commends them, saying "I know thy works, and where thou dwellest, even where Satan's seat is: and thou holdest fast my name, and hast not denied my faith" (v. 13). Even in the midst of temptation and trials, they held onto Jesus. What strength! What commitment!

Yet, Jesus also offers a sobering warning: "Repent; or else I will come unto thee quickly, and will fight against them with the sword of my mouth" (v.16). Some in the church were holding onto the doctrine of the Nicolaitans, which Jesus hated. They were compromising, letting the culture around them shape their beliefs.

This is a danger for us today, friends. It's easy to let the world slowly conform us to its patterns, rather than be transformed into the image of Christ. We must examine our hearts daily, rooting out any false teachings or practices that have crept in.

Jesus longs for His Bride to be pure and holy, "not having spot, or wrinkle, or any such thing" (Eph. 5:27). Let us repent of any areas that are not fully aligned to Him. Jesus is coming soon - will He find us faithful?

Marvelous Lord, give us Pergamos' strength to endure, but also their vigilance against compromise. Search our hearts and keep us wholly Yours. In Jesus' name, amen.

Real Prosperity Rev 2:8-11 #Nightlight #RTTBROS #RevelationRevealed RR7

Real Prosperity Rev 2:8-11 #Nightlight #RTTBROS #RevelationRevealed RR7

My friends, our Scripture reading today comes from Revelation chapter 2, verses 8 through 11. Let's listen to what the Word of God says:

"And unto the angel of the church in Smyrna write; These things saith the first and the last, which was dead, and is alive; I know thy works, and tribulation, and poverty, (but thou art rich) and I know the blasphemy of them which say they are Jews, and are not, but are the synagogue of Satan. Fear none of those things which thou shalt suffer: behold, the devil shall cast some of you into prison, that ye may be tried; and ye shall have tribulation ten days: be thou faithful unto death, and I will give thee a crown of life. He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches; He that overcometh shall not be hurt of the second death."

Now friend, Jesus Christ Himself is speaking these words to the church in Smyrna. And the message is clear: No matter what persecutions or trials you face, be faithful even unto death, and you will receive the crown of life.

Jesus identifies Himself as the first and the last, the eternal God who died and rose again. And because He lives, we too shall live. No grave could hold our Savior, and no persecution can separate us from His love.

The believers in Smyrna faced poverty and slander from false Jews, but Jesus calls them rich in faith. My friends, true prosperity is not houses and lands - it's having Jesus in your heart! Don't let so-called "prosperity preachers" deceivingly tell you that God's blessings are measured by your bank account. Trust in God, not gold!

Now Jesus warns that some will be cast into prison and face tribulation. But He commands, "Fear none of those things!" Keep your eyes on the crown of life. Christian, no matter what trials you're facing today, Jesus walks with you through the fire. Keep looking to the prize that awaits you on the other side!

Finally, Jesus admonishes us all: "He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches." My friend, are you listening? The Spirit of God is speaking to us today through this passage. He's saying: Be faithful, stand strong, cling to Jesus - and overcometh this world!

Won't you heed Christ's call today? Turn from sin, trust in Him, and you shall receive that glorious crown of life. There's a day coming when no more sorrows will weigh down our heads. But until then, we must run this race with endurance, knowing that Jesus will see us through to the end. Amen!

Rebuild The Temple #NormanKissinger #NK #Nightlight #RTTBROS

Rebuild The Temple #NormanKissinger #NK #Nightlight #RTTBROS

Rebuilding the Temple Before the Walls

In the books of Ezra and Nehemiah, we read about the return of the Jewish exiles to Jerusalem after 70 years of captivity in Babylon. One of the first priorities for the returned exiles was to rebuild the temple, which had been destroyed by the Babylonians. Under the leadership of Zerubbabel, the people laid the foundation and completed the Second Temple, though it was less glorious than Solomon's original temple (Ezra 3:8-13, 6:14-15).

It was not until over 60 years later, under Nehemiah's leadership, that the city walls and gates of Jerusalem were rebuilt. The walls had been broken down and burned when the Babylonians first attacked Jerusalem. Rebuilding them was a key part of restoring security, stability, and dignity to the people (Nehemiah 2:17).

The order of these re-building projects contains an important spiritual lesson for us. The temple, as the center of worship of God, took priority over the walls, which provided mainly physical security and demarcation of property. As Jesus would later teach, we must seek first the kingdom of God rather than worrying about material needs (Matthew 6:33).

In our lives today, we face many potential priorities competing for our time and resources. But as believers, we are called to put our relationship with God first. Regularly participating in corporate worship, reading Scripture, praying, and serving others should take priority over worldly pursuits. As we stay focused on spiritual priorities, God will take care of our physical needs and lead us to rebuild the other important areas of our lives as well.

Revive your passion Rev 2:4-7 #Nightlight #RTTBROS #RevelationRevealed part 7

Revive your passion  Rev 2:4-7 #Nightlight #RTTBROS #RevelationRevealed part 7

Revelation 2:4-7 KJVS - Nevertheless I have somewhat against thee, because thou hast left thy first love.
5 Remember therefore from whence thou art fallen, and repent, and do the first works; or else I will come unto thee quickly, and will remove thy candlestick out of his place, except thou repent.
6 But this thou hast, that thou hatest the deeds of the Nicolaitans, which I also hate.
7 He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches; To him that overcometh will I give to eat of the tree of life, which is in the midst of the paradise of God

Oh, church of Ephesus, the Lord Jesus himself has been walking among your lampstands. He knows your toil, your perseverance, your rejection of wickedness. But the piercing eyes of Christ have discerned a fatal flaw - you have abandoned your first love!

What convicting words to rouse our souls! Have we also left our first love? The ardor that burned within us has faded to a flicker. Our hearts, once aflame with devotion, now pump cold religious routine through our veins.

Christ remembers the heights from which we have fallen. He recalls the days when we were newly saved, when grace amazed us, when we poured over the Scriptures. He remembers our childlike awe, our joyous wonder at his sacrifice. But now our love has grown drowsy, indifferent, mechanical. Other passions have crowded out our devotion to the Savior.

Oh child of God, hear the voice of Jesus calling you to return to your first love once more! Reflect, remember, repent! Examine your heart - have lesser loves supplanted the place of Christ? Has your communion with him become lifeless habit? Fan the fading embers of your love back into flame! Fix your gaze again upon the blood-stained cross! Marvel at his mercy, plunge again into his word, rediscover the glory of his grace!

Jesus urges us onward, his promises sustaining us. Though we often stumble, he remains faithful. Keep looking unto Jesus as you run the race marked out for you. Persevere in devotion to him all your days, that you may finally eat of the tree of life in paradise.

Lord Jesus, forgive our dull hearts and cold love. Burn within us with holy fire once more, that we would return to our first love. Consume our thoughts with passion for you, that you alone would have our highest adoration and deepest affection.

The Emotions of Repentance #RTTBROS #nightlight #normankissinger #NK

The Emotions of Repentance #RTTBROS #nightlight #normankissinger #NK

Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out, when the times of refreshing shall come from the presence of the Lord." Acts 3:19 (KJV)

This verse from Acts speaks an essential truth - that we must repent of our sins in order to receive forgiveness and restoration. The word "repent" means to turn away from and forsake our sins. It requires an inward change of heart that leads to an outward change in behavior and lifestyle. True repentance involves godly sorrow over sin, confessing and forsaking it.

Repentance is not just feeling sorry - it's a change in direction. We turn from our sinful path and realign our lives to God's will and ways. The verse promises that when we repent, our sins are blotted out. Through Christ's redemptive work on the cross, God removes the stain and guilt of sin from our lives. What an incredible promise!

Repentance also leads to renewal - "times of refreshing" from the Lord's presence. When we walk in obedience, we experience the joy, peace and blessing of close fellowship with God. Sin creates distance in our relationship with Him, but repentance restores intimate communion with the Lord.

True repentance is a gift from God, made possible by His grace. We cannot manufacture or work up repentance on our own. The Holy Spirit awakens our hearts to recognize and turn from sin. Conviction leads us to godly sorrow, and God's kindness leads us to repentance (Romans 2:4).

The call to repentance reminds us that Christianity is not passive. Salvation is a free gift we receive by faith, but it calls us to active obedience and turning from sin. We must respond to God's offer of grace by repenting and embracing holiness.

This verse holds both a warning and a promise. The warning is that refusing to repent will block our fellowship with God and lead to spiritual decay. But for the willing heart, it promises cleansing, renewal and the refreshing presence of the Lord. May we heed this call to repentance today!

Repentance can bring up conflicting emotions within us. There is joy and relief in being forgiven, restored to God, and knowing our sins are cast away. But there can also be sadness and sorrow over all that was lost or damaged through the sin we are repenting of. Both responses are normal and even necessary for true repentance.

Active Endurance Rev 2:2 #Nightlight #RTTBROS #RevelationRevealed part 6

Active Endurance Rev 2:2 #Nightlight #RTTBROS #RevelationRevealed part 6

Revelation 2:2 KJV:
"I know thy works, and thy labour, and thy patience, and how thou canst not bear them which are evil: and thou hast tried them which say they are apostles, and are not, and hast found them liars."

One commentator said of the patience referred to here..." It is not the grim patience which resignedly accepts things. It is the courageous gallantry which accepts suffering and hardship and turns them into grace and glory. It is often said that suffering colours life; but when we meet life with the hupomone ( G5281) which Christ can give, the colour of life is never grey or black; it is always tinged with glory."

The patience commended here is not mere waiting around. It is an active endurance in the face of trials and persecution. The Ephesian church persevered in truth and discernment despite the presence of false teachers trying to deceive them.

As believers today, we need this same kind of vigilant patience. When faced with moral compromise or watered-down doctrine, we must stand firm in God's Word. This requires spiritual discipline and dependence on the Holy Spirit. We can't passively let sin or deception overtake the church.

Patience in adversity also applies to our personal lives. When enduring illness, grief, or relational strife, we can follow Jesus' example of committing our souls to our faithful Creator. He will give us grace to withstand every hardship while anticipating the glory to come.

Let us cultivate patience that endures, discerns, and hopes in God's promises. By His strength, we can reject evil and cling to what is true. Our steadfast witness will shine light into the darkness.
