The Growth Gap Gal 6:7 #Nightlight #RTTBROS
The Growth Gap
"Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap." Galatians 6:7 KJV
In Galatians 6, Paul teaches an important principle - we reap what we sow. If we sow sin and disobedience, we will reap corruption. But if we sow righteousness and obedience to God, we will reap eternal life. This principle applies in all areas of life.
There is often a gap between when we sow and when we reap. Farmers understand this from planting crops. There are months between planting seeds and harvesting fruit. This gap can deceive us. When we first sow seeds of sin, we may think we "got away with it" if no consequences appear immediately. But the harvest of judgment will certainly come in God's timing.
Likewise, when we first sow righteousness, we may wonder why we do not immediately reap good things. But there is a gap - a growth and maturation process - before spiritual fruits ripen. We must patiently persist in doing good works and serving God, trusting He will bless us in due time.
The growth gap is a gracious period given by God to repent and change direction if we have sown sin. It is also a season to persevere in righteous living until we reap the harvest of blessing. We must understand this gap and not lose hope or tire of doing good.
What seeds are you sowing each day in your life? Are you sowing to please your fleshly desires, or are you sowing to please the Holy Spirit? The harvest you will one day reap depends on what you are sowing now. Sow righteousness and you will reap eternal life!
Lord, help me to sow spiritual seeds each day through obedience, faith and good works. Produce in me the fruit of righteousness. Give me patience to endure the growth gap, never wavering until the harvest of blessing comes. I trust you to bring the harvest in due season as I sow righteousness by your Spirit.
