Sheltered Nahum 1:7 #Nightlight #RTTBRO

Sheltered Nahum 1:7 #Nightlight #RTTBROS
“The Lord is good, a strong hold in the day of trouble; and he knoweth them that trust in him.” Nahum 1:7

Hard times will come, but God is our stronghold, as Adrian Rogers declared: “Regardless of how steep the cliff, how sharp the thorns, or how dark the valley, our faithful Lord is walking with us every step of the way.” We can trust God to uphold us in every trouble

As we start a new day, let us rejoice and be glad in it, for this is the day the Lord has made. "This is the day which the Lord hath made; we will rejoice and be glad in it" (Psalm 118:24 KJV). God is inviting us to partner with Him to make this day count for eternity. As Max Lucado reminds us, "God's desire is to be your stronghold and your peace. He has strategically placed you where you are to reflect his wonderful light."

When challenges arise, let us not despair but remember God is still on the throne. As the late preacher J. Vernon McGee said, "Don’t forget that God not only reigns, but He overrules. He is able to take that which seems to be a defeat and turn it into a victory." We can have hope no matter our circumstances. "Why art thou cast down, O my soul? and why art thou disquieted in me? hope thou in God: for I shall yet praise him for the help of his countenance" (Psalm 42:5 KJV).

God sees all we are facing today and cares deeply. "Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you" (1 Peter 5:7 KJV). Max Lucado reminds us of God's tender love: “He will calm your storms and guide your ship to the harbor. Give him the sails of your heart and let him chart the course.” Keep your eyes fixed on Jesus, our faithful Friend.

Even in the valley of the shadow of death, God is with us, as the great preacher Charles Spurgeon proclaimed: “Do not despair because the enemy seems to have power over you...Though darkness surrounds you, the darkness cannot shut Him out." We have no need to fear. “Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me” (Psalm 23:4 KJV).

As we close in prayer, thank You Father for being with us and for giving us the victory through Christ Jesus. "But thanks be to God, which giveth us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ" (1 Corinthians 15:57 KJV). May we walk in faith and perseverance throughout this day.
