The Hero Rev 1;13-17 #RTTBROS #Nightlight #RevelationRevealed RR5

The Hero Rev 1:13-17 #Nightlight #RTTBROS #RevelationRevealed part 5
Revelation 1:13-17 KJVS - 13 And in the midst of the seven candlesticks one like unto the Son of man, clothed with a garment down to the foot, and girt about the paps with a golden girdle. 14 His head and his hairs were white like wool, as white as snow; and his eyes were as a flame of fire;
15 And his feet like unto fine brass, as if they burned in a furnace; and his voice as the sound of many waters.
16 And he had in his right hand seven stars: and out of his mouth went a sharp twoedged sword: and his countenance was as the sun shineth in his strength.
17 And when I saw him, I fell at his feet as dead. And he laid his right hand upon me, saying unto me, Fear not; I am the first and the last:

Our Lord Jesus Christ, the faithful witness and first begotten of the dead, has overcome all and secured the final victory. Though the dragon pursued the woman who bore the man child, Christ was caught up unto God and to His throne, frustrating the dragon's designs (Revelation 12:5-6). Though the beasts arise from the sea and earth, given power by the dragon to make war and conquer the saints, the Lamb shall overcome them (Revelation 13:7). Though the second beast performs signs and deceives those on earth, Christ's elect will not be deceived, for He has chosen and sealed them (Revelation 13:8, 14:1).

At the opening of the seventh seal, there is silence in heaven as the prayers of the saints are offered on the golden altar before the throne. Then seven angels sound their trumpets, bringing woes upon the earth, yet the saints overcome by the blood of the Lamb (Revelation 8-9). Though the dragon is enraged and makes war on those who keep the commandments of God and have the testimony of Jesus, they overcome him by the word of their testimony and the blood of the Lamb (Revelation 12:11).

Though the beast and false prophet gather the kings of the earth to the battle of Armageddon, Christ the King of Kings shall prevail. He treadeth the winepress of the fierceness and wrath of Almighty God, and He hath on His vesture and on His thigh a name written, KING OF KINGS, AND LORD OF LORDS (Revelation 19:11-16). Thanks be to God, who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ! (1 Corinthians 15:57)

The Anchor Rev 1:8 #Nightlight #RTTBROS #RevelationRevealed part 4

The Anchor Rev 1:8 #Nightlight #RTTBROS #RevelationRevealed part 4

"I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the ending" (Revelation 1:8).

We need not fear the future, for Christ holds us fast. He declares, "I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the ending" (Revelation 1:8). Before anything was created, He existed; when all else fades away, He will remain.

Times may be shaky, but our hope in Him stands firm. For He says, "Fear thou not; for I am with thee: be not dismayed; for I am thy God: I will strengthen thee; yea, I will help thee; yea, I will uphold thee with the right hand of my righteousness" (Isaiah 41:10).

Like an anchor in stormy seas, Christ secures us. As Hebrews says, "Which hope we have as an anchor of the soul, both sure and stedfast, and which entereth into that within the veil" (Hebrews 6:19). Though winds and waves may toss, our Anchor holds firm.

When anchors are tested in storms, we find security in the one Anchor that holds—Jesus. For He declares, "Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and to day, and for ever" (Hebrews 13:8). He alone remains steadfast forevermore.

So we will not fear, for the eternal Anchor of our souls will keep us safe. Though the earth be removed, and the mountains shaken, we remain steadfast, moored to the Rock who never changes. Christ alone secures us through every storm.

Uncertain Times Rev 1:17 #RTTBROS #Nightlight #RevelationRevealed part 3

Uncertain Times Rev 1:17  #Nightlight #RTTBROS #RevelationRevealed part 3

"I am the first and the last" Rev. 1:17

In uncertain times, we can feel adrift, without direction. The winds of change blow, and the seas of life grow stormy. We lose our bearings, unsure which way is safe, wondering if we'll weather the swelling waves.

But Revelation 1 presents Christ as our guiding light and source of hope—a beacon shining through the darkness. John sees the risen Lord in dazzling glory, with hair white as snow and eyes flaming like fire. This is no ordinary man—this is the King of kings, the Alpha and Omega, the root of David's line.

Though kingdoms rise and fall, Christ remains sovereign over all. He declares "I am the first and the last" (v. 17). Before anything was created, He existed; when all else fades away, He will remain. He is the same yesterday, today, and forever—the eternal, unchanging One.

Like a lighthouse guiding ships through stormy nights, Christ's light shines to lead us through life's uncertainties. The lighthouse stands firm on the rock, unaffected by crashing waves. Its lamp burns bright, piercing the darkness so sailors can find safe passage home.

In a world of change and uncertainty, Jesus stands a shining beacon to guide us safely home. He remains steady and constant when all else is tossing and turning. Fix your eyes on Him, and let His brilliant light lead you through the darkness. For He promises never to leave or forsake you, but to light your path all the days of your life.

The Lion and The Lamb Rev1:5 #Nightlight #RTTBROS

The Lion and The Lamb  Rev1:5 #Nightlight #RTTBROS

The Lion and the Lamb

In the opening of Revelation, John offers a striking portrait of Jesus Christ - the faithful witness, the first begotten of the dead, and the prince of the kings of the earth (Revelation 1:5 KJV). Though John penned these words while exiled on Patmos, he points to the supremacy and victory of Christ in the midst of suffering.

As we study the mysteries of Revelation and gaze at the coming doom, we must never lose sight of the Lion and the Lamb who has already overcome. Let us be reminded of three key truths:

His Faithfulness - Christ is the "faithful witness" (v.5), testifying to God's truth with perfect obedience, even unto death. As evil rises, we can trust His steadfast witness.

His Resurrection - He is "the first begotten of the dead" (v.5), conquering the grave once for all. No earthly or spiritual power can snatch us from His undefeated hand.

His Reign - He is "prince of the kings of the earth" (v.5), sovereign over every earthly authority. No ruler operates apart from His supreme rule.

In days of turmoil, fix your eyes on the Lion and the Lamb. He reigns victorious and will bring His people safely through the fire to an eternity with Him. Our gaze is upward, far above the trouble below.

Chain Or Stain Rev 1:1-5 #Nightlight #RTTBROS

Chain Or Stain Rev 1:1-5  #Nightlight #RTTBROS

The Revelation of Jesus Christ, which God gave unto him, to shew unto his servants things which must shortly come to pass; and he sent and signified it by his angel unto his servant John: Who bare record of the word of God, and of the testimony of Jesus Christ, and of all things that he saw. Blessed is he that readeth, and they that hear the words of this prophecy, and keep those things which are written therein: for the time is at hand. John to the seven churches which are in Asia: Grace be unto you, and peace, from him which is, and which was, and which is to come; and from the seven Spirits which are before his throne; And from Jesus Christ, who is the faithful witness, and the first begotten of the dead, and the prince of the kings of the earth. Unto him that loved us, and washed us from our sins in his own blood, Rev. 1:1-5

" It is grace that endures. The benediction is addressed to the One who loves us and who keeps on loving us. It is also grace that emancipates: "Unto him that ... washed us from our sins." Some versions read "loosed us from our sins." Dean Alford says there is a difference of only one letter between the two readings in the original. If we read: "Unto him that ... washed us from our sins," then sin is regarded as a stain. If we read: "Unto him that ... loosed us from our sins," then sin is regarded as a chain. Of course, it is both." John Phillips
Sin is a Burden We Cannot Bear

"For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God." (Romans 3:23 KJV)

Sin is a stain on our lives that we cannot wash away on our own. No matter how good we try to be, we still fall short of God's perfect glory. Sin separates us from our holy Creator. But even more than a stain, sin is a chain that binds us. It is a trap we cannot escape by our own efforts. Sin enslaves us and leads us down destructive paths.

But praise God, He has washed us clean and loosed us from the chains of sin through Jesus Christ! "But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin." (1 John 1:7 KJV) No stain is too dark for the blood of Jesus. No chain is too strong for Him to break.

Let us rejoice today that we have been freed from sin's stains and chains by the amazing grace of our Lord. Though we were once slaves to sin, we have been set free and are now slaves to righteousness!

"But now being made free from sin, and become servants to God, ye have your fruit unto holiness, and the end everlasting life." (Romans 6:22 KJV

The Man Who .loved Moody

Dwight L. Moody was the Billy Graham of the mid-1800s. He preached powerfully across the world, leading over a million people to convert to Christ. Earlier in his ministry, a young man asked if he visited Chicago, could he preach at Moody's church. Moody agreed absentmindedly. But Henry Morehouse preached John 3:16 so powerfully that Moody asked him to preach for seven more nights. Morehouse transformed Moody's preaching. It was said Morehouse moved the man who moved millions.

Morehouse said if he asked the angel Gabriel how much God loved the world, the reply would be John 3:16. God demonstrated his love tangibly by sacrificing Jesus to provide full, free salvation so we can be with Him forever.

I want to move you with God's love. Mighty Father God, I thank you for this day. I pray you'd be with us and allow us to know your love, strength and care moment by moment, infinitely available because of Christ's work. Thank you for the man who moved the man who moved millions. In Jesus' name, amen.

God bless you. I love you, but Jesus loves you more. Have a great night.

Enhancing Your Prayer Life: Helpful Tools and Tips

Prayer is an important part of the Christian life. Having a consistent and meaningful prayer life can strengthen your relationship with God and deepen your faith. However, it can sometimes be challenging to stay focused during prayer or to keep track of prayer requests. In this post, I'll share some helpful tools and tips for enhancing your prayer life.

Prayer Cards
Prayer cards are a great way to organize your prayers and remember specific requests. You can write names of people or ministries to pray for on a small, portable card that you keep with you. One idea is to dedicate a prayer card for each day of the week. You could include up to 40 requests per day. These cards are easy to update as needed. Just be sure to use cardstock or laminate them so they hold up over time.

Rocketbook
Another option is to use an erasable notebook like the Rocketbook. You can handwrite your prayer lists on the pages and easily wipe them clean when finished. The Rocketbook comes in various sizes, with the mini 5.5 x 8 size working well for portability. You'll always have your list handy for prayer time. An added bonus is that you can scan pages to save prayer requests digitally or convert to PDF.

Digital Tools
While tangible tools like prayer cards are handy, you can also use digital options to organize prayers. Prayer apps, online prayer boards, and note-taking apps allow you to type and save prayer lists. If you prefer typing over writing by hand, digital prayer tools may be ideal for you. Just be sure to password protect and back up any digital prayer journal.

No matter which method you choose, having a designated prayer tool can add consistency and focus to your prayer life. Take time to find a system that works for you. Your deepened prayer life will be worth the effort you put in! Let me know if you have any other creative ideas for enhancing your prayer time.

Short Leash 2 Cor. 12:7 #NK #RTTBROS #Nightlight #NormanKissinger

Short Leash 2 Cor. 12:7 #NK #RTTBROS #Nightlight #NormanKissinger

This is Norman Kissinger from Redeeming Time Brothers Ministry. My brother and I have devoted our lives to ministry, raising families, and being involved in churches. We'd like to have an online place where people can be encouraged as we encourage one another in faith.

I wanted to reference a Bible passage and introduce you to somebody. 2 Corinthians 12:7 mentions a "thorn" given to Paul to prevent pride from the revelations he saw. This refers to repeated trials, like waves continuously pounding the shore.

This reminded me of our dog, Susie. She loves chasing rabbits but that isn't good for her. Our other dog Bonnie can be off-leash, but Susie must stay leashed or she'll run off for an hour. I realized we also need a "short leash" at times. God knows the exact leash each of us needs to protect us from temptation and unwise choices. Despite some teaching, God will allow difficulties to protect us.

Like Susie, we wish some things were different. But God may keep our "leash short" for our benefit, molding and guiding our development. I wanted to share this because some teaching suggests God would never allow anything painful, stressful or difficult. But Scripture says otherwise.

Though trials and burdens come, you walk beside me, Lord. Your strength helps me face each moment, however hard. Thank you for your faithful presence and endless grace. Fill me with your Spirit to reflect Christ today. Use me to encourage someone weary. Remind me my life is in your hands, and you who began a good work in me will carry it on to completion.

In Jesus' Name, Amen.

The Tracks Of My Tears Ps 42:3

I wrote this several years ago for ONE Magazine it is about my battle with depression and anxiety

Psalms 42:3  My tears have been my meat day and night, while they continually say unto me, Where is thy God?

I wept when I told my board, I wept when I told my church, and I wept  when I told my family, After 27 Years as Pastor at Jerome Free Will Baptist Church I found I could no longer do what was needed to successfully lead a growing church I had entered a profound depression along with panic attacks. I got to the point that I would wait in the parking lot till it was time to start church then I would go in and stumble through a sermon and leave as soon as possible afterward.  They say a going pastor builds a coming church but visitation became out of the question, It got where I couldn't handle one more problem.  My life had become distant from family and my church people.  The Church which had been vibrant and growing was now struggling and shrinking, and it was my fault.

Here is how I described it in my resignation letter to my Church.

“...Ministry is hard arduous work. It can put a profound strain on a pastors marriage and on  his children. several years ago my wife entered a doctors care for depression and anxiety issues and at the end of last year and the begging of this year I have entered a doctors care for depression and anxiety. I have started having panic attacks and chest pains that I thought was a heart attack. I have been having the panic attacks on a weekly basis and the chest pains are a regular part of my life though I am assured by the doctor it is not a heart attack instead it it stress related.  I am saddened to find myself unable to carry my own load of stress much less the heavy load that a pastor must carry to be effective in his calling. So it is with a heavy heart that I must tender my resignation as pastor of this amazing Church that has been so kind to me and my family over these last three decades...”

the reason I am telling you my tale is to attract my tribe. Could there be other pastors, and pastors families who are struggling with depression and anxiety?

Could they find help and a happier ending, is there hope for them?

I believe so.

My BIG problem was admitting that I had a problem. The depression came on progressively not instantly. It was situational ( ministry pressure a large family and all of the attendant issues that come from both areas) and genetic.

I was at least two years into the depression before I recognized what it was and another year before I sought medical help.

Dr. Richard Kravitz was quoted on the website Prevention.com

“Depression doesn’t always look like debilitating sadness," says Richard Kravitz, MD, MSPH, a professor of internal medicine at University of California, Davis, and an expert in identifying depression in primary-care settings. "Patients are reluctant to consider depression as a cause of their symptoms—in part because they may equate it with weakness, but also in part because they simply don’t associate those symptoms with depression." The site then gives ten surprising symptoms of depression that I have summarized below.

1. You're in pain.
Depression and pain share some of the same biological pathways and neurotransmitters. About 75% of people with depression suffer recurring or chronic pain.

2. You've gained weight.

3. You have a short fuse.
If the slightest mishap sends you into a rage, or grouchy is your new normal, you may be depressed.

4. You feel nothing. Feeling neutral, numb, or blah.

5. Addictive behaviour. Self medicating to deal with the internal pain.

6. You are glued to Facebook. Social media may be an addiction as well but it may be a sign of loneliness that accompanies the depression.

7. Your head is in the clouds.

we're happiest when our minds are firmly rooted in the present moment, and when our minds wander, it can make us wistful, anxious, and unhappy.

8. You can't make up your mind.
We make upwards of 70 conscious decisions every day. While many are no brainers like what to eat for breakfast the accumulation of decisions can lead to decision fatigue. "Little things we normally don't think twice about suddenly become weighty decisions.

9. You've stopped combing your hair or brushing your teeth.

Ultimately, not caring what you look like on the outside is a strong sign of problems happening on the inside.

10. You can't seem to stick to a sleep schedule. Insomnia AND oversleeping can be signs of depression.

Even after recognizing it admitting the depression and getting help is a real struggle.  I heard a quote that helped me “secrecy is to sickness what openness is to wholeness” the only way to get better was to shine some much needed light on my plight. I believe there are many in ministry that struggle with the black dog of depression as Churchill described it in his life. Even pulpit legends like Spurgeon suffered at least bouts of depression, as did, Jeremiah, David, Elijah, and John the Baptist.

Had I recognized and recieved help sooner I could have had a better outcome maybe even been able to stay in the pastorate. Why do we hesitate to get help.

  1. We don't want to admitted weakness. (This is not biblical we are weak, and God uses weak people but Jesus is strong)

  2. We fear the judgment of others (especially our preacher friends and our church leadership)

  3. We have held a wrong theology about depression and other mental health issues (the idea that those things are a sign of an emaciated spirituality)

  4. We worry it will affect future ministry opportunity (if we are not dealing with the real issues of life are we even accomplishing true ministry)

6 months into my new life I am doing much better I am not healed but I am healing. Here is how the healing is happening.

I got medical help. With medication I am now sleeping at night. Before I was fortunate to get 4 hours of good sleep a night.

I told my tale. I tell people what is going on so they can find hope. People are shocked they say you didn't look depressed. (Depression has no special look)

I enlisted the help of my close friends and family. He have not because he ask not...I just had to ask and they were there.

I memorize and meditate on scripture. Robert Morgan's book on Scripture memory is a good place to start 100 verses everyone should know by heart.

I am building balance. The imbalance in my life was my besetting sin. I had the idea that I would rather burn out than rust out, maybe God would have rather I avoided both negative outcomes.

I had to give myself a demotion.

Demote yourself and Promote God to his rightful place: give up the illusion of control.  There is a God and you are not him.  We try to control everything and everyone in our lives in an attempt to remove pain from our lives and maintain pleasure in our lives.  The trouble is we are truly terrible at trying to do God's job. He alone has all knowledge and all power to understand what should happen and the power to actually bring about the proper change at the proper time.

Take Sabath seriously. I am convinced those in ministry break this commandment more than any other. I worked bivocationally most of ministry life which meant weekends were filled to the brim with ministry. I almost never took time off this was sinful. We need to divert daily: find time each day to unwind. Get a hobby, take up a musical instrument, find something fun. (I ride a moped for fun right now.) Withdraw weekly: get away from ministry demands on a weekly basis (Monday could be a good choice, but make sure you get away regularly)

Abandon annually: take vacations or staycation unplug get away from texts, calls, instant messages etc.

As a side note it would be amazing if our churches could arrange for sabbatical season for those in the pastorate for a long time. Spurgeon had that set up late in his ministry who knows had he started earlier he might have lived and ministered longer.

I can almost hear you objecting wont dealing with this slow down my church growth?  Let me tell you this, you are more than the ministry you do. God loves you quite apart from your activity and accomplishment, you are accepted in the beloved.  Let me also call upon ancient wisdom from the tortoise and the hare. Slow and steady wins the race.

Jesus never ran anywhere in the scripture. It wasn't that he didn't care but instead he was demonstrating the pace of Grace. We need to move from the frenetic pace we are on toward a rhythm of resting in God.

God would be more pleased with a slow and steady growth rate that is consistent and permanent versus a quick flash in the pan that falls apart and dies off. You can accomplish far more than you can imagine in 10 years but we want that in a year. Remember your father in heaven thinks generationally for him a thousand years are as a day. So turn to and trust in your Father above as June Hunt who runs the website hope for the heart reminds us…

“The best help, however, is from the One who knows your pain, cares deeply for you, and is able to heal. His help is always free and always available. The Bible has many examples of God’s people who were depressed. You can follow their example by crying out to God, by remembering His faithfulness, and by putting your hope in Him. In your darkest hour, He won’t abandon you. He’s beside you, even when you can’t feel Him. Ask Him to remind you of His presence when the loneliness seems unbearable. He will reassure you − maybe through His Word or maybe through a friend”

Isaiah 50:10  Who is among you that feareth the LORD, that obeyeth the voice of his servant, that walketh in darkness, and hath no light? let him trust in the name of the LORD, and stay upon his God.

Let's conclude with the remainder of David's lament from Psalms 42

Psalms 42:4-5  When I remember these things, I pour out my soul in me: for I had gone with the multitude, I went with them to the house of God, with the voice of joy and praise, with a multitude that kept holyday.
Why art thou cast down, O my soul? and why art thou disquieted in me? hope thou in God: for I shall yet praise him for the help of his countenance.

Reassurance Romans 8:38-39 #Nightlight #RTTBROS

Reassurance Romans 8:38-39 #Nightlight #RTTBROS

“For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come, Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.” - Romans 8:38-39

Robert J. Morgan is a pastor and author who wrote a book called “Great Is Thy Faithfulness: 52 Reasons to Trust God When Hope Feels Lost” 12. In this book, he provides 52 scriptures and devotions that remind us that our loving God always follows through on what He says He will do

In it he shared the story of Katie McKenna was run over by a truck and was in surgery for many hours; in the hospital for many weeks. When she returned home from the hospital she was still traumatized physically and psychologically. But her parents were there to help her. She wrote about how she would always ask them if it was going to be okay. She wasn’t even sure of what “it” was; she just needed reassurance. Her mom and dad did that for her—they were hopeful, so she was hopeful; they were sure, so she was sure. Without them she would have fallen into the dark side of her fear. They pulled her into the light of a better future .

The ministry of reassurance is powerful. We need someone to tell us it is going to be okay, whatever “it” is. We need someone to give us reassurance about life. When they are hopeful, it helps us be hopeful.

Here are some verses from the King James Version of the Bible that talk about reassurance:

“And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.” - Romans 8:28

“Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.” - John 14:27

Attitude Determines Altitude Luke 18:1-8 #NormanKissinger #NK #Nightlight #RTTBROS

Attitude Determines Altitude Luke 18:1-8 #NormanKissinger #NK #Nightlight #RTTBROS

Luke 18:1-8 KJVS - And he spake a parable unto them to this end, that men ought always to pray, and not to faint; 2 Saying, There was in a city a judge, which feared not God, neither regarded man:
3 And there was a widow in that city; and she came unto him, saying, Avenge me of mine adversary.
4 And he would not for a while: but afterward he said within himself, Though I fear not God, nor regard man;
5 Yet because this widow troubleth me, I will avenge her, lest by her continual coming she weary me.
6 And the Lord said, Hear what the unjust judge saith.
7 And shall not God avenge his own elect, which cry day and night unto him, though he bear long with them?
8 I tell you that he will avenge them speedily. Nevertheless when the Son of man cometh, shall he find faith on the earth?

The tax collector's humble and repentant attitude allowed him to approach God sincerely and authentically. He recognized his need for God's mercy and grace. In contrast, the Pharisee's proud and self-righteous attitude prevented him from truly connecting with God.

As we come before God in prayer, we must check our attitude. Do we think we deserve God's favor because of our good works? Or do we know that we can only approach Him because of His mercy? A repentant heart that cries out, "God, be merciful to me, a sinner" is precious to God.

In the end, it is not about the number of prayers we pray or good deeds we do. It's about recognizing our desperate need for God's grace. When we humble ourselves before Him, we will be lifted up and find peace in His presence.

Let's reflect on our attitude today as we pray. Do we come with humility and repentance like the tax collector? Or with pride and self-righteousness like the Pharisee? As we check our hearts, may we draw near to God, trusting in His mercy alone.

How to be God's friend #RTTBROS #Nightlight

Friends, our reading today in Exodus 33:11 gives us a beautiful glimpse into the friendship between God and Moses. The verse tells us "The Lord spoke to Moses face to face, as a man speaks to his friend." Their relationship went beyond servant and Master - they related as close companions.

As followers of Christ, you and I are also called to cultivate this level of friendship with God. But how is such intimate fellowship developed? The key is spending quality time with the Lord in prayer. More than just presenting requests, we need to open our hearts up fully to Him.

Tell God what's on your mind, share your dreams and troubles, and give Him your undivided attention. Ask the Spirit to reveal His thoughts and feelings to you as you meditate on Scripture. Praying God's Word back to Him aligns our will with His purposes. This deepens our bond tremendously.

The Bible shows that God granted miraculous answers to the prayers of those who were His friends, like Abraham, Moses, David and Daniel. He wants to do the same for us today! But it starts with prioritizing companionship with Him.

Dear friends, I pray we all draw nearer to God each day as His dearest friends. There is no greater joy than walking in sweet communion with Him. The Best Thing Matt 6:34 #NormanKissinger #NK #Nightlight #RTTBROS

The Best Thing Matt 6:34 #NormanKissinger #NK #Nightlight #RTTBROS

The best thing about the future is that it only comes one day at a time.”
Abraham Lincoln
Matthew 6:34 KJVS - 34 Take therefore no thought for the morrow: for the morrow shall take thought for the things of itself. Sufficient unto the day is the evil thereof.

Friends, do not fret about the future or wallow in doubts and fears. As the psalmist said, "The LORD is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear? the LORD is the strength of my life; of whom shall I be afraid" (Psalm 27:1).

Like looking up a towering staircase, gazing too far into the future can overwhelm us. Yet the Lord reminds us, "34 Take therefore no thought for the morrow: for the morrow shall take thought for the things of itself. Sufficient unto the day is the evil thereof." (Matthew 6:34).

Rather than obsessing over the summit, let us set our sights on the very next step. For "the path of the righteous is like the morning sun, shining ever brighter till the full light of day" (Proverbs 4:18). Press forward, dear ones. The Lord orders our steps and lights our path one stride at a time.

Our heavenly Father knows the plans He has for us, "11 For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the LORD, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end" (Jeremiah 29:11). So do not dwell on impending trials or unknown tomorrows. God is with us in this moment. Let His grace be sufficient for today, and tomorrow's grace be enough for tomorrow.

Stay near to the Lord, dear friend, taking each moment as He gives it. He will guide your steps up the heights if you but let Him. Have hope and take courage! The best is yet to come.

Let's just take life one step at a time and one day at a time.

Hannah All In 1 Sam 1:10 #NormanKissinger #NK #Nightlight #RTTBROS

Hannah All In 1 Sam 1:10 #NormanKissinger #NK #Nightlight #RTTBROS
Hannah All In

And she was in bitterness of soul, and prayed unto the Lord, and wept sore I Sam 1:10

Have you ever wanted something so badly that you pleaded with God intensely for it? Hannah did. She longed for a child, yet remained barren. Her deep desire drove her to the temple where she prayed so fervently that Eli the priest thought she was drunk! But Hannah was not drunk - she was desperate.

In 1 Samuel 1:10 we read "And she was in bitterness of soul, and prayed unto the Lord, and wept sore." Hannah poured her heart out to God, refusing to take no for an answer. She begged the Lord for a son, vowing to dedicate him to the temple if her request was granted.

God heard Hannah's impassioned prayer and blessed her with a son, Samuel. As soon as he was weaned, Hannah fulfilled her vow and brought Samuel to Eli at the temple. Though it pained her to be separated from her beloved child, Hannah selflessly gave Samuel back to the Lord as she had promised.

We too must pray with intensity and passion, fully relying on God's will. But we must not treat Him like a genie, presenting our demands. Instead, like Hannah, we can surrender the desires of our heart completely to Him, trusting that He will answer according to His perfect plan. For He knows what we need before we even ask.

Right Kind Of Love John 13:34 #Nightlight #RTTBROS

Right Kind Of Love John 13:34 #Nightlight #RTTBROS

Right Kind Of Love
A new commandment I give unto you, That ye love one another; as I have loved you, that ye also love one another.” - John 13:34 (KJV)

According to Greek mythology, a sculptor named Pygmalion created an ivory statue of a woman who was so perfect and beautiful that he fell in love with her. In his mind, no living woman could compare to the statue he had crafted. Finally Venus, the goddess of love, brought the statue to life so that Pygmalion could marry the love of his life. Of course we know there is no truth to that ancient fable, yet at the same time it demonstrates a principle that underlies a serious problem in many relationships

My friend, have you ever felt like the person you love just doesn't measure up? That nagging feeling that if only they were a little more patient, a little more thoughtful, a little more perfect, then you could truly love them? I know those thoughts have crossed my mind before too.

But here's the truth: True love isn't about finding a flawless partner. It's about seeing past the flaws and cherishing the person for who they are. The kindest, most Christ-like love accepts people as they are.

So today, I encourage you to look at your loved ones through eyes of grace. Focus on their strengths, not their weaknesses. Choose to see the good in them. Decide to be patient and forgiving, just as God is with you. The more you practice this, the more your love will grow.

The world promotes a distorted view of romance, but as Christians we're called to a higher standard. We don't just love the lovely. We reflect the love of Jesus by loving people unconditionally.

So let's make that our aim today and every day. Rather than judging our loved ones, let's enjoy and appreciate them. Instead of wishing they were perfect, let's be grateful for the unique gifts they bring into our lives. This is the kind of love that builds strong relationships and brings joy.

May God bless you richly as you love others with His grace and compassion!

God Knows Exd 3:7 #Nightlight #RTTBROS A devotion adapted from C.H Surgeon

God Knows Exd 3:7 #Nightlight #RTTBROS
A devotion adapted from C.H Surgeon

"I know their sorrows." Exodus 3:7

Exodus 3:7 KJVS - 7 And the LORD said, I have surely seen the affliction of my people which are in Egypt, and have heard their cry by reason of their taskmasters; for I know their sorrows;

When we sing "This my father knows," it's so comforting to know God understands us completely. As our dear Friend and Lover of our souls, He knows everything about us.

He's the Great Physician - if He knows it all, we don't need to. Hush all those worried thoughts, wondering and questioning heart! What you don't understand now, you'll get later. For now, Jesus the beloved Doctor knows your soul in hard times. Why do we need to analyze the treatment or calculate the symptoms? That's the Doctor's job, not mine. My role is to trust Him, and His is to prescribe what I need. If He writes the prescription in a way I can't decipher, I won't stress about it. I'll rely on His flawless skills to make it all clear eventually, though the process remains mysterious.

He's the Master, and His knowledge guides us instead of our own limited understanding. We obey, not judge. "The servant knoweth not what his lord doeth." Should the construction worker question the architect's blueprints? If the designer grasps his intent, isn't that sufficient? The pottery on the spinning wheel can't guess the pattern it will become, but if the potter knows his craft, what does the ignorant clay matter? My Lord won't be interrogated by one as uninformed as me!

He's the Head. All understanding starts there. What discernment does the arm have? What comprehension does the foot possess? The power to know rests in the head alone. Why would a body part need its own brain when the head fulfills every mental function? Here then, child of God, find comfort in sickness - not because you see the outcome, but because Jesus knows all. Sweet Lord, be our eyes, soul and head forever, and let us be content knowing only what You choose to reveal.

COMING SOON Titus 2:13-14 #Nightlight #RTTBROS

COMING SOON Titus 2:13-14 #Nightlight #RTTBROS

Titus 2:13-14 KJVS - 13 Looking for that blessed hope, and the glorious appearing of the great God and our Saviour Jesus Christ;
14 Who gave himself for us, that he might redeem us from all iniquity, and purify unto himself a peculiar people, zealous of good works.

"Coming Soon"
Life is full of instances where the concept of "coming soon" is used to build anticipation for an upcoming event. We hear "Coming Soon" about a concert or sporting event that is near at hand.  In Titus 2:13-14 (KJV), we read "Looking for that blessed hope, and the glorious appearing of the great God and our Saviour Jesus Christ; Who gave himself for us, that he might redeem us from all iniquity, and purify unto himself a peculiar people, zealous of good works." This verse reminds us that we should be looking forward to the second coming of Christ with great anticipation.

The second coming of Christ is a topic that has been discussed for centuries. Many people believe that it will happen soon.  I have a friend that says he is no longer looking for signs he is now listening for the trumpet.  Regardless of when it happens, we should be prepared for it. We should be living our lives in such a way that we are ready to meet our Lord and Savior when He returns.

As we wait for the second coming of Christ, we can take comfort in knowing that He has given Himself for us so that we might be redeemed from all iniquity. We are called to be a peculiar people, zealous of good works. Let us live our lives in such a way that we are always ready for His return.
We can say with John The Revelator, "Even so come quickly Lord Jesus."

Living under the gaze of God" from 2 Timothy 4:1-4 KJVS: #Nightlight #RTTBROS

Living under the gaze of God" from 2 Timothy 4:1-4 KJVS: #Nightlight #RTTBROS

2 Timothy 4:1-4 KJVS - I charge thee therefore before God, and the Lord Jesus Christ, who shall judge the quick and the dead at his appearing and his kingdom;
2 Preach the word; be instant in season, out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort with all longsuffering and doctrine.
3 For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears;
4 And they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables

Living under the gaze of God is a powerful concept that reminds us that we are always in the presence of God. In 2 Timothy 4:1-4 KJVS, Paul charges Timothy to preach the word; be instant in season, out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort with all longsuffering and doctrine. For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears; And they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables. This passage reminds us that we are accountable to God for our actions and words.

Living under the gaze of God means that we are always aware of His presence. We should strive to live our lives in a way that honors Him. We should be quick to repent when we sin and seek His forgiveness. We should also be quick to forgive others when they sin against us. Living under the gaze of God means that we are constantly seeking His will for our lives.

Living under the gaze of God is a reminder that we are not alone. He is always with us, guiding us and directing us. We can trust Him to lead us on the right path and to give us wisdom when we need it. Let us strive to live our lives in a way that honors Him and brings glory to His name.

Liberty Isaiah 61:1-3 #Nightlight #RTTBROS

Liberty Isaiah 61:1-3 #Nightlight #RTTBROS

Isaiah 61:1-3 KJVS - The Spirit of the Lord GOD is upon me; because the LORD hath anointed me to preach good tidings unto the meek; he hath sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, and the opening of the prison to them that are bound;
2 To proclaim the acceptable year of the LORD, and the day of vengeance of our God; to comfort all that mourn;
3 To appoint unto them that mourn in Zion, to give unto them beauty for ashes, the oil of joy for mourning, the garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness; that they might be called trees of righteousness, the planting of the LORD, that he might be glorified.

This Amazing passage was used by Jesus to inagirate His Earthly ministry. It describes his Mandate of ministry that can be broken down this way.
His Mandate: • “The Spirit of the Lord GOD is upon Me”

His Motivation: • “The LORD has anointed Me:

His Method: • “to preach”

His Message: • “good tidings”

His Message recipients : • “the poor… brokenhearted … captives … those who are bound”

His Measure: • “preach good tidings to the poor … heal the broken-hearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, and the opening of the prison to those who are bound”

His Mood: • “to proclaim the acceptable year of the LORD
As Warren Wiersbe explains during the "favorable year" of Jubilee
"all debts were canceled,
all land was returned to the original owners,
the slaves were freed,
and everybody was given a fresh new beginning.
This was the Lord’s way of balancing the economy and keeping the rich from exploiting the poor.

If you have trusted Christ as your Savior, you are living today in a spiritual “Year of Jubilee.” You have been set free from bondage; your spiritual debt to the Lord has been paid; you are living in “the acceptable year of the Lord.” Instead of the ashes of mourning, you have a crown on your head; for He has made you a king (Rev. 1:6). You have been anointed with the oil of the Holy Spirit, and you wear a garment of righteousness (Isa. 61:3, 10).

Meek Nor Weak Titus 3:2 #Nightlight #RTTBROSTitus 3:2

Meek Nor Weak Titus 3:2 #Nightlight #RTTBROS

Titus 3:2 - To speak evil of no man, to be no brawlers, but gentle, shewing all meekness unto all men
Meekness should not be mistaken for weakness or cowardice. As stated by the Lord Jesus, "I am meek (gentle) and lowly (humble) in heart." Despite being the strongest individual to have ever lived, Jesus identified himself as meek and humble. His strength was under the complete control of God, as He lived in submission to Him. There was a sign that said "If you believe meekness is weakness, try being meek for a week."
Often, individuals question why they cannot hear God's voice. It is not that God is silent; rather, we are not attentive. If you desire God's guidance and leadership, it is crucial to develop a meek and humble lifestyle. By exhibiting a repentant, receptive, and responsive spirit, God will provide direction. Instead of being like a ship navigating through a dark and turbulent night without any means of guidance and control, tossed aimlessly by the worlds influences, God will reveal His path to you. He will gently guide you, steering you in the right direction. You will be able to discern His whispers, as He guides you by subtly adjusting your course. Consider the misconceptions you have held about meekness in the past. Have you cultivated a repentant, receptive, and responsive spirit toward God? How can you further develop these qualities? Take time to pray and ask God to reveal areas in your life where you need to grow in meekness.

Become A Benefactor #Nightlight #RTTBROSJ.H Jowett

Become A Benefactor  #Nightlight #RTTBROS
J.H Jowett

THE BENEFITTED AS BENEFACTORS
“Who comforteth us ... that we may be able to comfort.”
—2Corinthians 1:3-7
AND how does the Lord comfort us? He has a thousand different ways, and no one can ever tell by what way the comfort will come to his soul. Sometimes it comes by the door of memory, and sometimes by the door of hope. Sometimes it is borne to us through the ministry of nature, and at other times through the ministry of human speech and kindness. But always, I think, it brings us the sense of a Presence, as though we had a great Friend in the room, and the troubled heart gains quietness and peace. The mist clears a little, and we have a restful assurance of our God.

Now comforted souls are to be comforters. They who have received benefits of grace are to be benefactors. They who have heard the sweet music of God’s abiding love are to sing it again to others. They who have seen the glory are to become evangelists. We must not seek to hoard spiritual treasure. As soon as we lock it up we begin to lose it. A mysterious moth and rust take it away. If we do not comfort others, our own comfort will turn again to bitterness; the clouds will lower and we shall be imprisoned in the old woe. But the comfort which makes a comforter grows deeper and richer every day.

4 Who comforteth us in all our tribulation, that we may be able to comfort them which are in any trouble, by the comfort wherewith we ourselves are comforted of God.

From Chaos To Calm Gen.1:1-3 #Nightlight #RTTBROS

From Chaos To Calm Gen.1:1-3  #Nightlight #RTTBROS

Genesis 1:1-3 KJVS - In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth.
2 And the earth was without form, and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters.
3 And God said, Let there be light: and there was light.

"The presence of anxiety is unavoidable, but the prison of anxiety is optional"- Max Lucado

When your funds are low and your debts are high.
When your blood count is up and your faith is ebbing away.
When your marriage is going South and the kids have gone prodigal.
When your blood pressure is up and your patience is deplated.

Let God Hover over your Chaos and bring calm to it. After the initial creation in Genesis 1:1 we see how God interacts with chaos, and darkness he hocers over it and brings it into submission.  He creates a world of order and beauty out of darkness and Chaos.  What area in your life does God want to hover over and transform tonight.

"In the treatment of anxiety, a proper understanding of sovereignty is huge. Anxiety is often the consequence of perceived chaos. If we sense we are victims of unseen, turbulent, random forces, we are troubled.”- Max Lucado

Intensity In Prayer By Norman Kissinger #RTTBROS

Intensity In Prayer" 1 Samuel 1:10-11 #NightLight #RTTBROS. #NK #NormanKissinger

"Intensity In Prayer" 1 Samuel 1:10-11 by Norman Kissinger 1 Samuel 1:10-11 KJVS - 10 And she was in bitterness of soul, and prayed unto the LORD, and wept sore. 11 And she vowed a vow, and said, O LORD of hosts, if thou wilt indeed look on the affliction of thine handmaid, and remember me, and not forget thine handmaid, but wilt give unto thine handmaid a man child, then I will give him unto the LORD all the days of his life, and there shall no razor come upon his head.

Hannah was a woman who had been barren for many years and was deeply distressed. She prayed to the Lord and wept bitterly. She vowed a vow and said,   “ O LORD of hosts, if thou wilt indeed look on the affliction of thine handmaid, and remember me, and not forget thine handmaid, but wilt give unto thine handmaid a man child, then I will give him unto the LORD all the days of his life, and there shall no razor come upon his head.”

E.M Bounds once said, “The men who have most fully illustrated Christ in their character, and have most powerfully affected the world for Him, have been men who spent so much time with God as to make it a notable feature in their lives. TO BE LITTLE WITH GOD IS TO BE LITTLE FOR GOD.”

This quote emphasizes the importance of spending time with God in prayer. It is through prayer that we can develop an intimate relationship with God and grow in our faith. When we pray with intensity, we are able to connect with God on a deeper level and experience His presence in our lives.

In conclusion, intensity in prayer is essential for every believer who desires to grow in their faith. It is through prayer that we can experience God’s presence in our lives and develop an intimate relationship with Him. Let us follow Hannah’s example and pray with intensity, trusting that God hears our prayers and will answer them according to His perfect will.

ONE THING Deut. 31:6 #Nightlight #RTTBROS

ONE THING Deut. 31:6 #Nightlight #RTTBROS

Deuteronomy 31:6 (KJV) - "Be strong and of a good courage, fear not, nor be afraid of them: for the Lord thy God, he it is that doth go with thee; he will not fail thee, nor forsake thee."

Ray Pritchard writes....

"One Thing God Will Never Do

Awhile back I heard a TV preacher offer this insight: “God will never bring us to the place where we no longer need him.”

And all God’s children said, “Hmmmm.”

That’ll make you stop and think. Down deep there is a part of us that would like to come to a place where we don’t have to trust in the Lord so much. Not that we don’t want to pray, but secretly we’d like to be in such a place of earthly fulfillment where we didn’t have to pray desperate prayers to the Almighty. It would be wonderful (or so we think) if things were going so well that all we had to do was to praise the Lord all day long.

Not going to happen.

If all our needs were met, we’d end up forgetting God just like the children of Israel did in the Old Testament. Earthly prosperity tends to be no friend of spiritual growth. Total prosperity generally means total disaster. I think that preacher was right on in what he said. God intends to bring us again and again to the place where we are crying out to the Lord, begging for his mercy and his grace.

That’s not a fun place to be.

But it’s where we need to be.

Anything that drives us to our knees is good for the soul."

Bookends For Your Day Neh. 8:10 #Nightlight #RTTBROS

Bookends For Your Day Neh. 8:10  #Nightlight #RTTBROS
Bookends for your day.

Nehemiah 8:10 KJVS - 10 Then he said unto them, Go your way, eat the fat, and drink the sweet, and send portions unto them for whom nothing is prepared: for this day is holy unto our Lord: neither be ye sorry; for the joy of the LORD is your strength

I feel it my duty to be as happy as the Lord wants me to be–Robert Murray McCheyne

It is imperative that we incorporate a sense of cheerfulness into our daily routines. To this end, I would like to offer two suggestions. Firstly, in the morning, sing a verse of a hymn as you begin your day. I enjoy gazing at the beauty of God's creation and giving voice to a verse or two of one of the great hymns of the faith. For example
"I come to the garden alone
While the dew is still on the roses
And the voice I hear, falling on my ear
The Son of God discloses
And He walks with me
And He talks with me
And He tells me I am His own
And the joy we share
as we tarry there
None other has ever known
He speaks and the sound of His voice
Is so sweet the birds hush their singing
And the melody that He gave to me
Within my heart is ringing"

Secondly, before going to sleep at night, as a new nightly routine, think of three things that you are thankful for. Instead of allowing your mind to dwell on the stresses of the day, take some time to thank God for three good things. This could be for helping you not lose your temper, or a good deal you found shopping that day.  By starting the morning with a song and ending it with a prayer of thanksgiving, we can establish a routine that will positively impact those around us, making us the kind of people who spread joy wherever we go.

Not Anymore 2 Corinthians 5:17 #Nightlight #RTTBROS

Not Anymore 2 Corinthians 5:17  #Nightlight #RTTBROS

2 Corinthians 5:17 says "Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new."

The concept of "I am not that person anymore" is a powerful one. It reminds us that we are new creatures in Christ and that our old selves have passed away. 2 Corinthians 5:17 says "Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new."

The illustration of a missing person search where the only picture used on the missing persons poster was a 5th grade photo and the missing person is in their 60's is a great way to illustrate this concept. You wouldn't be successful in your search because for all practical purposes that 5th grader doesn't exist anymore. This is similar to how we are not the same people we were before we came to Christ. We have been transformed into new creatures with new features.

"Satan knows your name but calls you by your sin but God knows your sin and calls you by your name." This quote is a great reminder that our identity as believers is in Christ. We have a new identity in Him and we are no longer defined by our past sins or mistakes. We are defined by who we are in Christ.
