Friends, our reading today in Exodus 33:11 gives us a beautiful glimpse into the friendship between God and Moses. The verse tells us "The Lord spoke to Moses face to face, as a man speaks to his friend." Their relationship went beyond servant and Master - they related as close companions.
As followers of Christ, you and I are also called to cultivate this level of friendship with God. But how is such intimate fellowship developed? The key is spending quality time with the Lord in prayer. More than just presenting requests, we need to open our hearts up fully to Him.
Tell God what's on your mind, share your dreams and troubles, and give Him your undivided attention. Ask the Spirit to reveal His thoughts and feelings to you as you meditate on Scripture. Praying God's Word back to Him aligns our will with His purposes. This deepens our bond tremendously.
The Bible shows that God granted miraculous answers to the prayers of those who were His friends, like Abraham, Moses, David and Daniel. He wants to do the same for us today! But it starts with prioritizing companionship with Him.
Dear friends, I pray we all draw nearer to God each day as His dearest friends. There is no greater joy than walking in sweet communion with Him. As we cultivate this divine friendship, our prayer lives will be revolutionized. Our petitions will flow from a place of intimate love and trust. Let's pursue fellowship with our Best Friend!
