Bookends For Your Day Neh. 8:10 #Nightlight #RTTBROS

Bookends For Your Day Neh. 8:10  #Nightlight #RTTBROS
Bookends for your day.

Nehemiah 8:10 KJVS - 10 Then he said unto them, Go your way, eat the fat, and drink the sweet, and send portions unto them for whom nothing is prepared: for this day is holy unto our Lord: neither be ye sorry; for the joy of the LORD is your strength

I feel it my duty to be as happy as the Lord wants me to be–Robert Murray McCheyne

It is imperative that we incorporate a sense of cheerfulness into our daily routines. To this end, I would like to offer two suggestions. Firstly, in the morning, sing a verse of a hymn as you begin your day. I enjoy gazing at the beauty of God's creation and giving voice to a verse or two of one of the great hymns of the faith. For example
"I come to the garden alone
While the dew is still on the roses
And the voice I hear, falling on my ear
The Son of God discloses
And He walks with me
And He talks with me
And He tells me I am His own
And the joy we share
as we tarry there
None other has ever known
He speaks and the sound of His voice
Is so sweet the birds hush their singing
And the melody that He gave to me
Within my heart is ringing"

Secondly, before going to sleep at night, as a new nightly routine, think of three things that you are thankful for. Instead of allowing your mind to dwell on the stresses of the day, take some time to thank God for three good things. This could be for helping you not lose your temper, or a good deal you found shopping that day.  By starting the morning with a song and ending it with a prayer of thanksgiving, we can establish a routine that will positively impact those around us, making us the kind of people who spread joy wherever we go.

Morning Is Coming Gen 1:15 #Nightlight #RTTBROS

Morning Is Coming Gen 1:15 #Nightlight #RTTBROS
F.B Meyer

THE MORNING COMETH
"And the evening and the morning were the first day."-- Gen 1:5.

SIX TIMES these words are repeated, and the one lesson that rings out is that God counts His periods, not as man does from night to night, but from evening till morning. ' Not first the light, and after that the dark; but first the dark, and after that the light." God saw that each night would end in daylight, and that the end of all the nights and all the days would be the eternal day in which there can be no darkness at all. This is what St. John saw: "There shall be no night there, for the Lord God giveth them light" (Rev 22:5). The sun of materialism sets in a black ocean, unlit by the sar of hope. But as long as God is, we believe that He will make a new heaven and new earth; and from out of what seems disappointing and hopeless He will bring a fairer creation than before. Creation shall participate in the glorious liberty of the sons of God. Watchman what of the night? The morning cometh! The darkness will finally pass away before the radiance of the dawn, and this because God is God; He is Love and Light and His Word creates.

So it is with the individual. Life may be dark. Sin is darkness; sorrow is darkness; ignorance is darkness, and these three may be part of your daily lot. But the night is far spent, the day is at hand. For you the morning star is in the sky. The education of your soul is like that of a child at school. How hard and difficult those first days, but when the rudiments were mastered; when the discipline had played its part, then were reaped the harvests of sowing, and darkness was turned to day. Be of good cheer! Even in death there is nothing to fear. "That night they caught nothing; but when the morning was now come, Jesus stood on the shore." The dark waves, as they break around the boat of your life, are bearing you onward to the morning meal upon the golden sands, where you will find that Love has gone before you with its preparations! It shall be evening and morning and lo! the day without night.

PRAYER

O God, the darkness and light are both alike to Thee, and the night shineth as the day. Help us to follow Thee even through the valley of the shadow, and to trust Thee whatever be our lot; until the day dawns, and the shadows flee away. AMEN

Dealing With "Not Enough" 1 Tim 6:8 #Nightlight #RTTBROS

Dealing With "Not Enough" 1 Tim 6:8 #Nightlight #RTTBROS

The verse from 1 Timothy 6:8 in the King James Version says, "And having food and raiment let us be therewith content." This verse reminds us that we should be content with the basic necessities of life, such as food and clothing. In our modern American world, it's easy to get caught up in the idea that success is defined by what we have or what others have. We often compare ourselves to others and feel like we need to keep up with the Joneses.

However, as Christians, we need to learn the importance of contentment. Contentment is finding joy and satisfaction in what we have, rather than always wanting more. It's about being grateful for the blessings we have, rather than focusing on what we lack.

When we rely on God to meet our daily needs, we can find contentment in each day. We don't need to worry about keeping up with others or accumulating more possessions. Instead, we can trust that God will provide for us and be content with what we have.

In Philippians 4:11-12, Paul writes, "Not that I speak in respect of want: for I have learned, in whatsoever state I am, therewith to be content. I know both how to be abased, and I know how to abound: every where and in all things I am instructed both to be full and to be hungry, both to abound and to suffer need." Paul learned the secret of contentment, which was to rely on God in all circumstances.

As we strive to find contentment in our lives, let us remember the words of 1 Timothy 6:8. Let us be content with the basic necessities of life and trust that God will provide for us. Let us focus on being grateful for what we have, rather than always wanting more. And let us find joy and satisfaction in each day, knowing that we are meeting God's standard of success by relying on Him.

Quarter Prov 17:22 Gene Kissinger

#Morningglory
#TripleThreat

Gene Kissinger

The Quarter story. redeeming the time brothers podcast a podcast by Gene Kissinger and Norman Kissinger, two brothers who spent their lives in ministry and raising large families our desire is to provide a digital place for those who long to belong and as always, we want to leave a nightlight on for you.

that nightlight is at a Proverbs chapter 17 and verse 22, where it talks about the the benefits of a happy spirit, a merry heart doeth good like medicine but a broken spirit dries the bones, a merry heart doeth good like medicine, but a broken spirit drieth the bones.

He's talking here about the benefits of joy and having happiness as a hallmark of your life. Being a winsome witness for Christ. By having a light heart instead of being dreary toward everybody that's around you. Some people are just like a continual drip, drip, drip. They're full of sadness and despair and depression and God wants us to have joy Now that doesn't mean there are not sad moments or difficult issues in life, but they're also always good things that are going on around us
blessed things,
hopeful things,
wonderful things.
I remember listening to Norman Cousins. He wrote a book called headfirst he had he had received two different incurable diagnoses from doctors. He used humor as one of the medicine protocols to bring himself to the place of wellness. The doctors said there was nothing they could do for him. He rented Three Stooges videos and various other things that he thought was funny. This was back in the time when they had reel to reel kind of film, and he would watch that and  laughter he found allowed him to be pain free. And and ultimately he got cured from these two terminal diagnoses. And he wrote a book called headfirst abiut it. In it he talks about being asked by a group of physicians to come and talk to some cancer patients that they wanted to give these patients at least Some hope and to lighten their day and cousins was a pretty funny guy.  So he's up in front of these cancer patients,  And he's talking about going up to a payphone. Now, you guys that are younger, you probably have no idea what I'm talking about. But those of you that have got a few years behind, those with a few miles on your odometer,  know what a payphone was. It was the way we used to communicate when we were out and about and we needed to call home or call a store or whatever, we didn't have a cell phone in our pocket. And so we had to go plug a quarter  into the payphone and then make a phone call.  You needed a quarter, It was kind of a survival tool, so that you could make an emergency call if you needed to. Well, cousins put his only quarter in this payphone and it didn't connect him to the number and so he needed the quarter back and so he called the operator and the operator gave him the runaround, you know, like they do at a company, there's always a procedure for how to do the thing at the company, if you feel like you've been taken advantage of, they'll take your name and your address and they'll send you the refund. And he explained to her the stamp and the envelope would cost more than a quarter. He just wanted her to make the pay phone give the quarterback  so he can make his phone call.  He then said, you add the price of the person that licked the envelope and the stamp and  and so on. When he explained to her it would cost the company far more money than for her to just make the machine give him back his quarter so he can make his next phone call. And she's finally reiterating how we can't do that. This is how it's done. And then she said have you pushed the plunger, the coin return plunger? And he said no that he hadn't, he reached up and he pulled it down and $4 worth of quarter's fell out of the machine. I mean, it's raining quarters. It's like a slot machine paid off. Quarters pourung down on the on the floor of the phone booth.

The operator says, sir, I'm gonna need you to put those coins back in, return those coins into the phones coin slot. He said give me your name and address and I'll send the quarters to you.  When the cancer patients heard  the funny line, the payoff to it, they roared with laughter and cheered and, and then after he was done, the doctors, the physicians got up and asked them how many of you really enjoyed this and really laughed when Norman was telling you about the quarter story and they raised their hand then he said, How many of you experienced little pain or no pain while he was telling the story and they raised their hands almost unanimously. That laughter gave them pain relief, a little bit of laughter can give you 15 minutes pain free.  I don't know if it's endorphins or what,  I don't know the biological process of it, But laughter is indeed medicine to your soul,  medicine to your body. You and I need to learn To have joy again.

l I'm in the last quarter of my life, the last half that for sure.  I'm going to be holy, I'm determined that I'm going to live a life that's well pleasing to God. And I want to live well,  I want to finish Well, I don't just want to have started well, I want to finish well, but beyond that, I want to be happy. I want to be ridiculously, joyfully, full of the Spirit of God. You know the word enthusiasm. It's "en theos," it means to be filled with God. There should be nobody more filled with joy and filled with God than you and I who are born again. Blood bought, spirit filled, believers who've had our eternal destiny settled forever by Jesus Christ and His work on the cross.  All we had to do to enter into it was give him the mess that was our sins, and received from him the gift of eternal life.

The joy of the Lord is our strength. You and I, we've got lost, unsaved friends and family members, we're probably not going to win them, by browbeating them, you know we're going to win them is by demonstrating what the joy the Lord looks like and inviting them to come into that relationship so that they too can have the joy of the Lord in their life.  So that they can have their eternal destiny settled forever. Well, guys, we need to close our time together and prayer. Let's pray. Dear Lord God, I thank you for this day and I thank you for the truth that indeed a merry heart doeth good like
Medicine. It is a medicine to our soul, our distressed soul, because of our sin God, we need to know that we can get forgiveness and we can have cleansing and we can have joy that flows from your throne, restore unto us, The joy of our salvation as King David said.  Allow us God, to have a happy heart as we enter into these last days, help us to be a winsome witness to those that are around about what the benefits are of being a blood bought Born Again, spirit filled believer in Jesus. We ask this in the most holy, precious and powerful name, of Jesus amen.

Jesus Joy. Neh. 8:10

Learn to get a little Jesus joy

Redeeming the time brothers podcast, a podcast by Gene Kissinger, Norman Kissinger, two brothers who have spent their lives in ministry and raising large families. Our desire is to provide a digital place for those who longed to belong. And as always, we want to leave a nightlight on for you.

That nightlight is out of the book of Nehemiah chapter eight in verse 10. It says,

Then he said unto them, Go your way, eat the fat and drink the sweet and send portions to them. For whom nothing is prepared for this day is holy unto the Lord. Neither be sorry for the joy of the Lord is your strength.

I gotta tell you in the midst of all the chaos and drama and trauma that's out there, I need a little Jesus joy. I'm talking about the kind of joy that just lifts your soul up no matter what's going on around you. I got to tell you, my eternal destiny is settled and secured because I'm smart enough to believe in the one who died on the cross, for me. I'm trusting in his merritorious work on the cross to take me straight to heaven when I die,
through no merit of my own,
through no human worth of my own through no human work of my own, through no religious, religious song and dance of my own.
I have a Jesus joy.

Handle when he was writing the Messiah, the now famous, classic, music composition. The Messiah that you hear so often, in popular media, it is a powerful piece that has spanned centuries, bringing joy to the multitudes. In writing it, a lot of people don't know that he wrote it in a three week span of time, and he wrote it almost as though God were whispering the notes in his ears. He scribbled the musical notes down furiously. Many people also don't know is that he was in the midst of losing his eyesight, experiencing a severe physical handicap at. People also don't know that he was under severe financial stress, he was on the verge of bankruptcy while composing this masterpiece. In the middle of that mess God gave him 'Handel's Messiah" that has transformed lives, and caused souls to soar. He lived to see it spread around the world and become a powerful tradition, In classical music. It is probably one of the greatest compositions that's ever been written. He said the secret to the writing was his heart was filled with joy. It was almost to the place of bursting, with joy, while he was thinking about the concept of Jesus, as messiah, and that's what translated into this powerful music. So when you hear "the Lord God omnipotent reigneth hallelujah," that was written with a Jesus joy.

Do you have a Jesus joy? You can have it just turn to him and trust in him. Let him save you from your sins. Let him wash him make it clean. He can change everything. Let's pray.

Dear Lord God, I thank you for this day and I thank you for these dear ones. Lord, so many are Looking at every where, in all the wrong places, and all the wrong faces to find joy. No matter how hard they look, no matter how long they look, they won't find it till they find a Jesus joy. There's a Jesus shaped vacuum in their life and they need to turn to you to find it. Help fill them to the place of fullness, God, wash them make them wider than snow. In Jesus name, amen.
God bless you have all.

Rejoice in The Lord A.B Simpson

#MorningGlory
RTTBROS
A.B Simpson

The secret of joy is not to wait until you feel happy, but to rise, by an act of faith, out of the depression which is dragging you down and begin to praise God as an act of choice. This is the meaning of such passages as these: Rejoice in the Lord always: and again I say, Rejoice (Philippians 4:4). I therein do rejoice, yea, and will rejoice (Philippians 1:18). Count it all joy when ye fall into divers temptations (James 1:2). In all these cases there is an evident struggle with sadness and then the triumphs of faith and praise. This is what is meant-at least in part-by the sacrifice of praise. A sacrifice is that which costs us something. And when a man or woman has some cherished grudge or wrong and is harboring it, nursing it, dwelling on it, and quite determined to enjoy a miserable time in selfish grumbling, it costs us no little sacrifice to throw off the morbid spell, to rise out of the mood of self-commiseration in wholesome and holy determination and say, I will rejoice in the Lord (Habakkuk 3:18); I will count it all joy (James 1:2). I will joy in the God of my salvation -Habakkuk 3:18

The Cost Of Love Jn. 15:11-14 Paul Chappell

#MorningGlory. RTTBROS
The Cost of Love
Monday, July 13, 2020
by Dr. Paul Chappell

"These things have I spoken unto you, that my joy might remain in you, and that your joy might be full. This is my commandment, That ye love one another, as I have loved you. Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends. Ye are my friends, if ye do whatsoever I command you."

John 15:11-14

Former Congressman J.C. Watts from Oklahoma once said, "Compassion can’t be measured in dollars and cents. It does come with a price tag, but the price tag isn’t the amount of money spent. The price tag is love." Love is anything but free. The nature of godly love is that it is willing to make sacrifices for the good of the other rather than being focused on protecting itself or getting its own way.

Of course the ultimate example of this love is found in the life, death and resurrection of Jesus. He willingly came "to give his life a ransom for many" (Matthew 20:28). This is a different kind of love from the kind our world knows today. Most of what is called love would more properly be called attraction, and in many cases simply lust. This kind of self-focused behavior is far short of what God has in mind.

It is no surprise that the world falls short when it comes to love, but that should never be true for us. Each of our relationships—with family members, friends, fellow church members and the lost—should be characterized by this divine love that "seeketh not her own" (1 Corinthians 13:5). As we evaluate our love for others, we should not measure our feelings or our words, but our actions. Are we loving as Christ did, willing to give up that which we have every right to claim in order that someone else may benefit? Truly loving another is never an inexpensive proposition.

Today's Growth Principle:
It is impossible to truly love people without being willing to sacrificially give to them.

Thanks Be To God. Rom 6:17

Saying thanks should not be an after thought, but a forethought.

ILL. The young man was feeling very proud of himself. As a brand-new college graduate he had taken the C.P.A. Exams & passed with flying colors. Now he was a full-fledged Certified Public Accountant.

His father had been an immigrant to the U.S., & now owned his own little business. Filled with self-importance, the young man began to criticize his father’s way of keeping books. He said, “Dad, you don’t even know how much profit you’ve made. Over here in this drawer are your accounts receivable. Over there are your receipts, & you keep all your money in the cash register. You don’t have any idea how much you’ve made.”

The father answered, “Son, when I came to this country the only thing I owned was a pair of pants. Now, your brother is a doctor, your sister is an art teacher, & you are a C.P.A. Your mother & I own our home. We have a car, & we own this little business. Now add that up, subtract the pants, & all the rest is profit.”

The apostle Paul in 1 Corinthians 15 brings giving “thanks” to the fore front of our lives.

1 Corinthians 15:57  57But thanks be to God, which giveth us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.

When you begin to really look at your life … “But thanks be to God … life is not futile, foolish or finished.”

At times we humans tend to think our lives are foolish.  But consider this …though your life may not be all you want it to be … most of the time it is more life than others have.

  • If you have food in the refrigerator, clothes on your back, a roof overhead and a place to sleep, you are richer than 75% of this world.

  • If you have money in the bank, in your wallet, and spare change in a dish someplace, you are among the top 8% of the world’s wealthy.

  • If you woke up this morning with more health than illness, you are more blessed than the million who will not survive this week

  • If you can attend church meetings without fear of harassment, arrest, torture, or death, you are more blessed than three billion in the world.

  • List 3 things each day you are thankful for, it will turn you life around

The Strength of Joy Neh. 8:10

#MorningGlory.  RTTBROS

When you need a shot of real strength (not the Red bull or jet black coffee kind) turn to the Word of God. See Especially Neh. 8:10 and find out how to Tap into God's LIMITLESS strength for you. Listen to how F.B. Meyer breaks this concept down.
The Joy of The LORD is our STRENGTH
Neh. 8:10

FB Meyer reminds us that...

THE JOY OF THE LORD Nehemiah 8:10 “Then he said unto them, Go your way, eat the fat, and drink the sweet, and send portions unto them for whom nothing is prepared: for this day is holy unto our Lord: neither be ye sorry; for the joy of the LORD is your strength.” JOY AND gladness is a very necessary element in human wellbeing. We cannot live our best life if sorrow and depression holds undisputed sway. There are three sources of joy mentioned in this chapter.

The people understood the Divine Word and profited by it. Their eagerness to hear, as Ezra opened the Sacred Book, was remarkable (Neh 8:3,5,12,18,10). Let us also delight in God through His Word. Let us not read the Bible as a task, but dwell upon it, until its beauties become woven into our thoughts and lives. It is thus that life becomes purified and enriched. We shall no longer desire base or corrupting things, but God will give us the desires of our heart, and we shall be satisfied, if we delight ourselves in Him.

They communicated good things to those for whom nothing was prepared (Neh 8:10-12). There is no cure for sorrow and heartbreak like healing broken hearts. There is no such comfort for ourselves as that which we administer to others. Nehemiah could not have given better advice than when he bade his people share their joys and sweets with those whose lives were bare of comfort and luxuries.

Of course Christianity has within it other sources of joy. Our Saviour gives us His joy, because He reveals the Father to us, makes us to rest in Him, and gives a worthy object for our lives; He makes work light because He has appointed it, sorrow supportable because He shares it, and death desirable because He has opened the door of the Father’s Home. In His joy we may participate (John 15:11; John 16:22-24).

Their obedience. As soon as they understood the words they heard, they began to put them into practice. No wonder there was joy, for in the keeping of God’s commandments there is great reward. It was during the Feast of Tabernacles that our Lord spoke of the Holy Spirit entering the heart to remove its thirst, and to pour forth as rivers to a dying world (John 7:37-39).

We cannot do much apart from the indwelling of the Holy Spirit. Only through Him can we be right with God; only through Him can we be really glad; only through Him can we pass on joy and comfort to others.

PRAYER--We thank Thee, O God, that we may have fellowship with our Lord in His redemptive purpose. May the gifts which He has received even for the rebellious fill our hearts and lives with joy and gladness. AMEN.

Accstance With Joy

One of the most profound truths I have learned in recent years is "Acceptance with Joy" there are many things that happen in this broken old world that I don't like.  I change the things I can and should change, there are things that are beyond my ability to change and sometimes God is urging me to move to a place of acceptance. This gives me peace in the midst of the storm knowing that God is using this difficult thing, person or circumstance to shape me into the image of Christ. An artist or sculptor must use a hammer and chisel a file and sandpaper to chip away all that is not necessary to the sculpture. We are living sculptures and God is shaping us with uncomfortable but necessary tools. Acceptance with Joy is illustrated by author Hannah Hurnard.

Quote from hinds feet to high places by hannah hurnard

In all that great desert, there was not a single green thing growing, neither tree nor flower nor plant save here and there a patch of straggly gray cacti. On the last morning {Much Afraid} was walking near the tents and huts of the desert dwellers, when in a lonely corner behind a wall she came upon a little golden-yellow flower, growing all alone. An old pipe was connected with a water tank. In the pipe was one tiny hole through which came an occasional drop of water. Where the drops fell one by one, there grew the little golden flower, though where the seed had come from, Much-Afraid could not imagine, for there were no birds anywhere and no other growing things. She stopped over the lonely, lovely little golden face, lifted up so hopefully and so bravely to the feeble drip, and cried out softly, “What is your name, little flower, for I never saw one like you before.” The tiny plant answered at once in a tone as golden as itself, “Behold me! My name is Acceptance-with-Joy!“ Much-Afraid thought of the things which she had seen… Somehow the answer of the little golden flower which grew all alone in the waste of the desert stole into her heart and echoed there faintly and sweetly, filling her with comfort. She said to herself, “He (the Shepherd) has brought me here when I did not want to come, for His own purpose. I, too, will look up into His face and say, ‘Behold me! I am your little handmaiden, Acceptance-with-Joy
