MEMORIAL DAY JN 15:13 #Nightlight #RTTBROS

MEMORIAL DAY JN 15:13
 #Nightlight #RTTBROS
Today, we remember the heroes who served our nation in the armed forces, especially those who gave their lives for our freedom. As we honor their sacrifice, let us also remember the truth that our founding fathers understood well: "The tree of liberty is fertilized by the blood of patriots." (Thomas Jefferson) These brave men and women paid the ultimate price so that we can live in freedom today.

In John 15:13, Jesus said, "Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends." We are grateful for the love and sacrifice of these fallen heroes, who laid down their lives for us, their fellow citizens and friends. We pray for their families, who have empty chairs at their dinner tables tonight. We ask that you heal their hurt hearts and bring provision to their families. We know that you are a God of love and comfort, and we trust that you will wrap them in your love and assure them of our love for them.

As we remember these heroes, let us also remember the sacrifice of Jesus Christ, who laid down his life for us all. In Romans 5:8, it says, "But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us." We are grateful for the ultimate sacrifice of Jesus, who gave his life so that we could have eternal life. Let us honor his sacrifice by living our lives in a way that honors him and the sacrifices of those who have gone before us.

Dealing With "Not Enough" 1 Tim 6:8 #Nightlight #RTTBROS

Dealing With "Not Enough" 1 Tim 6:8 #Nightlight #RTTBROS

The verse from 1 Timothy 6:8 in the King James Version says, "And having food and raiment let us be therewith content." This verse reminds us that we should be content with the basic necessities of life, such as food and clothing. In our modern American world, it's easy to get caught up in the idea that success is defined by what we have or what others have. We often compare ourselves to others and feel like we need to keep up with the Joneses.

However, as Christians, we need to learn the importance of contentment. Contentment is finding joy and satisfaction in what we have, rather than always wanting more. It's about being grateful for the blessings we have, rather than focusing on what we lack.

When we rely on God to meet our daily needs, we can find contentment in each day. We don't need to worry about keeping up with others or accumulating more possessions. Instead, we can trust that God will provide for us and be content with what we have.

In Philippians 4:11-12, Paul writes, "Not that I speak in respect of want: for I have learned, in whatsoever state I am, therewith to be content. I know both how to be abased, and I know how to abound: every where and in all things I am instructed both to be full and to be hungry, both to abound and to suffer need." Paul learned the secret of contentment, which was to rely on God in all circumstances.

As we strive to find contentment in our lives, let us remember the words of 1 Timothy 6:8. Let us be content with the basic necessities of life and trust that God will provide for us. Let us focus on being grateful for what we have, rather than always wanting more. And let us find joy and satisfaction in each day, knowing that we are meeting God's standard of success by relying on Him.

unlimited Provision Paul Chappell ps. 50:10

#MorningGlory. RTTBROS

If you have a need in your life this mornings devotion is for you.  Hold tight to the promises of God to care for his kids. Read below as Paul Chappell as he unpacks just one of hundreds of provision promises in the Bible.

Unlimited Resources
Friday, July 10, 2020
by Dr. Paul Chappell

"For every beast of the forest is mine, and the cattle upon a thousand hills. I know all the fowls of the mountains: and the wild beasts of the field are mine. If I were hungry, I would not tell thee: for the world is mine, and the fulness thereof."

Psalm 50:10-12

The renowned teacher Harry Ironside was in a prayer meeting for a seminary at which he often lectured. The school was in critical need of $10,000 to keep the work going, and a group of men were praying together for this need. Ironside prayed, "Lord, you own the cattle on a thousand hills. Please sell come of those cattle to help us meet this need." Shortly after the prayer meeting, a check for $10,000 arrived at the school, sent days earlier by a friend who had no idea of the urgent need or of Ironside’s prayer. The man simply said the money came from the sale of some of his cattle!

The popular teaching in our day of the "prosperity Gospel" is completely false. It is not God’s will and plan for every Christian to be rich. However, it is also true that when we pray, we are making our request to Someone who has unlimited resources. None of our needs pose any challenge to His ability to meet them. You will never offer a prayer that will require God to dig into His reserves to answer. He has more than enough for every need.

Andrew Murray wrote: "Beware in your prayer, above everything, of limiting God, not only by unbelief, but by fancying that you know what He can do." The things that are impossible for us are fully possible for Him. Yet too often we pray small prayers, not expecting God to do great and mighty things. His loving nature and almighty power have not changed. God is still in the business of hearing and answering big prayers.

Today's Growth Principle:
When you pray, make sure that your requests are made in view of all that God can do—don’t settle for less than He has for you

Remember The Mana God Gave You

#MorningGlory RTTBROS "Memories Of God's Goodness" Heb 9:3-5
Mana would be all of the good things God has brought into your life over the years. Take time to thank God today for all the good he has brought into your life.

Read and think about this timely reminder to remember to thank God for his past Goodness to us.

The Memory of Manna
by Dr. Paul Chappell

And after the second veil, the tabernacle which is called the Holiest of all; Which had the golden censer, and the ark of the covenant overlaid round about with gold, wherein was the golden pot that had manna, and Aaron's rod that budded, and the tables of the covenant; And over it the cherubims of glory shadowing the mercyseat; of which we cannot now speak particularly.

Hebrews 9:3-5

To meet the needs of the Israelites in the wilderness, God sent manna six days a week. This practice continued day after day, year after year. The people were not allowed to keep any overnight to provide for the next day, except on the day before the Sabbath. Yet, they were never left without provision. When they finally crossed the Jordan River and had access to the food in the land, the manna stopped. “And the manna ceased on the morrow after they had eaten of the old corn of the land; neither had the children of Israel manna any more; but they did eat of the fruit of the land of Canaan that year” (Joshua 5:12).

Though the manna was no longer falling daily, God did not want the people to forget what He had done for them. One of the reminders He instructed the Israelites to keep was a pot filled with manna that was kept in the Ark of the Covenant. There would be difficult days the people would face. There would be times that they would not know how their needs would be met. But in those moments, they would be able to look back on what God had done for them in the past and be encouraged. The thanks that we offer to God for the blessings we receive are good, but they must not just be in the moment. We should remember what He has done with us in the past to help us face the future.

Today's Growth Principle:

Remembering what God has done for us in the past strengthens our faith for the needs we face in the future
