Burj Khalifa "Firm Foundation" Matt 7:24-27#Nightlight #RTTBROS

Firm Foundation Matt 7:24-27
#Nightlight #RTTBROS

Matthew 7:24-27 KJVS - 24 Therefore whosoever heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them, I will liken him unto a wise man, which built his house upon a rock:
25 And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell not: for it was founded upon a rock.
26 And every one that heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them not, shall be likened unto a foolish man, which built his house upon the sand:
27 And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell: and great was the fall of it.

A Firm FOUNDATION

The tallest building in the world, the Burj Khalifa in Dubai, rises more than 2,700 feet—over half a mile tall. It has 160 floors and is twice as tall as the Empire State Building in New York City. It is home to the world’s fastest elevator that travels at 40 miles per hour. The Burj Khalifa also hosts the world’s highest outdoor observation deck (on the 124th floor) and the world’s highest swimming pool (on the 76th floor).

But the secret to the stability of this massive building is found underground. Before construction began to rise up, workers spent a year digging and pouring the massive foundation that supports the building. The foundation contains some 58,900 cubic yards of concrete weighing more than 110,000 tons. The building is safe because the foundation is solid.

Godly and righteous living is important as a matter of obedience, but there are also many wonderful benefits that follow as a result. When we live according to God’s principles of wisdom, we receive His blessing, but we also establish a firm foundation for our lives and our families.

In Matthew 7:24-27 (KJV), Jesus tells us that whoever hears His words and does them is like a wise man who built his house upon a rock. When the rains came down and the floods came up, his house stood firm because it was founded on a rock. But whoever hears His words and does not do them is like a foolish man who built his house upon sand. When the rains came down and the floods came up, his house fell because it was founded on sand.

Just like how the Burj Khalifa stands tall because of its solid foundation, we too can stand firm when we build our lives on God's Word. Let us strive to be like wise men who build their houses upon rocks so that when life's storms come our way, we will not be shaken.

Dealing With "Not Enough" 1 Tim 6:8 #Nightlight #RTTBROS

Dealing With "Not Enough" 1 Tim 6:8 #Nightlight #RTTBROS

The verse from 1 Timothy 6:8 in the King James Version says, "And having food and raiment let us be therewith content." This verse reminds us that we should be content with the basic necessities of life, such as food and clothing. In our modern American world, it's easy to get caught up in the idea that success is defined by what we have or what others have. We often compare ourselves to others and feel like we need to keep up with the Joneses.

However, as Christians, we need to learn the importance of contentment. Contentment is finding joy and satisfaction in what we have, rather than always wanting more. It's about being grateful for the blessings we have, rather than focusing on what we lack.

When we rely on God to meet our daily needs, we can find contentment in each day. We don't need to worry about keeping up with others or accumulating more possessions. Instead, we can trust that God will provide for us and be content with what we have.

In Philippians 4:11-12, Paul writes, "Not that I speak in respect of want: for I have learned, in whatsoever state I am, therewith to be content. I know both how to be abased, and I know how to abound: every where and in all things I am instructed both to be full and to be hungry, both to abound and to suffer need." Paul learned the secret of contentment, which was to rely on God in all circumstances.

As we strive to find contentment in our lives, let us remember the words of 1 Timothy 6:8. Let us be content with the basic necessities of life and trust that God will provide for us. Let us focus on being grateful for what we have, rather than always wanting more. And let us find joy and satisfaction in each day, knowing that we are meeting God's standard of success by relying on Him.
