Helps To Holiness #RTTBROS #Nightlight
Philippians 2:5 - "Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus:"
Beloved, the call to holiness is not a burden, but a joyous invitation to draw closer to the heart of God. As we fix our eyes upon Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith, we find the strength to press on towards the mark of our high calling in Him.
The Apostle Paul, in his letter to the Philippians, exhorts us to have the mind of Christ - a mind singularly focused on pleasing the Father. This single-mindedness is the key to a life of holiness, for as we seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, all these things shall be added unto us (Matthew 6:33).
Yet, this journey requires a submitted mind, one that humbly serves others, esteeming them better than ourselves (Philippians 2:3). Even as Christ, being in the form of God, thought it not robbery to be equal with God, but made Himself of no reputation and took upon Him the form of a servant (Philippians 2:6-7), so too must we lay aside our own desires and put the needs of others before our own.
In this walk of faith, we must also guard against a complaining spirit, for as the children of Israel murmured in the wilderness, they provoked the Lord to anger (Numbers 14:27). Instead, let us cultivate a satisfied mind, content in whatever state we find ourselves, knowing that God shall supply all our needs according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:19).
Moreover, let us press forward with a striving mind, forgetting those things which are behind and reaching forth unto those things which are before (Philippians 3:13). As we lean into the upward call of God in Christ Jesus, we shall find grace to run with patience the race that is set before us (Hebrews 12:1).
Finally, beloved, let us maintain a supplicating mind, rejoicing always and bringing our requests before God with thanksgiving (Philippians 4:4,6). As we abide in His presence through prayer, the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep our hearts and minds through Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:7).
May we, like the Apostle Paul, count all things but loss for the excellency of the knowledge of Christ Jesus our Lord (Philippians 3:8), pressing towards the mark of the prize of our high calling in Him. For in so doing, we shall shine as lights in the midst of a crooked and perverse generation (Philippians 2:15), drawing others to the glorious gospel of grace.
"But as he which hath called you is holy, so be ye holy in all manner of conversation; Because it is written, Be ye holy; for I am holy." (1 Peter 1:15-16)
