HOLDING ON #RTTBROS #Nightlight

HOLDING ON #RTTBROS #Nightlight
"Two are better than one; because they have a good reward for their labour. For if they fall, the one will lift up his fellow: but woe to him that is alone when he falleth; for he hath not another to help him up." — Ecclesiastes 4:9–10
Did you know that sea otters hold hands while they sleep? It’s not just a cute habit; it’s a survival strategy. They do it to keep from drifting apart in the current, forming what’s known as a "raft." And when the water gets really choppy, they’ll wrap themselves in sea kelp to anchor themselves to the ocean floor.

They know that the current is stronger than they are. They know that if they let go, they might wake up miles away from the only community they have.

I think about how much of our lives we spend trying to "swim" against the current on our own. We treat independence like a badge of honor, thinking that asking for help or admitting we're drifting is a sign of weakness. But the truth is, the world has a way of pulling us apart, stress, distance, and the slow erosion of time can drift us away from the people and the faith we need most.

"Two are better than one; because they have a good reward for their labour. For if they fall, the one will lift up his fellow: but woe to him that is alone when he falleth; for he hath not another to help him up." — Ecclesiastes 4:9–10

We weren't meant to survive the current alone. We were meant to hold hands. We were meant to be "rafts" for one another, anchoring each other to the Truth when the tide tries to pull us out to sea.

If you feel yourself drifting tonight, here are three ways to start building your raft:

Send the "Thinking of You" Text. You don't need a crisis to reach out. A simple message lets someone know they are anchored in your heart and reminds them they aren't drifting alone.

Admit the Drift. Be honest with a trusted friend. Saying, "I've been feeling a bit disconnected lately," is the first step toward holding hands again.

Schedule the "Anchor" Time. Don't leave fellowship to chance. Set a recurring date, a weekly call or a monthly meal, that acts as your sea kelp, keeping you grounded regardless of how busy the season gets.

Tonight, who are you holding onto? And more importantly, who is holding onto you?

Don't let pride keep you from the raft. Reach out. Hold on.

You weren't meant to drift alone.
