The Tango of Trust: Learn To Dance with Doubt

"For we walk by faith, not by sight." - 2 Corinthians 5:7 (KJV)

Ah, the elusive dance of faith. We pirouette through life, grasping for invisible handholds, trusting in promises whispered on the wind. But what about the stumbles, the missteps, the times our hearts echo with a deafening "what if"? Lysa TerKeurst, with the grace of a seasoned ballerina, reminds us: "Faith isn't the absence of doubt, it's dancing with doubt while trusting God's promises."

Picture it: a ballroom bathed in moonlight, the melody a waltz of whispers and uncertainties. Doubt, a nimble shadow, twirls around us, dipping and swaying, its icy fingers brushing our fears. We hesitate, wanting to shrink back into the darkness, but then, a whisper carried on the wind, a promise from the Everlasting One: "Fear not, for I am with you." (Isaiah 41:10)

And so, we begin the dance. We spin with doubt, acknowledging its presence, its cold touch on our souls. We acknowledge our anxieties, the questions that gnaw at our confidence. But with each turn, we hold onto the promise, a warm ember in the chill of uncertainty. We find strength in the knowledge that God walks beside us, His hand steady on our backs, guiding our steps even when the music falters.

The dance may not be graceful, a clumsy tango of trust and fear. We stumble, we falter, our doubts whispering accusations in our ears. But even in the stumbles, there is beauty. For in acknowledging our vulnerability, in admitting that we don't have all the answers, we open ourselves to His grace, a torrent of love that washes over us, cleansing our anxieties and replenishing our faith.

So, let us dance, my friends, let us tango with doubt on God's floor. Let our vulnerability be a testament to our trust, a silent prayer etched in the rhythm of our steps. For in the midst of the swirling shadows, we will find Him, the Light that guides us home, the One who promises: "I will never leave you nor forsake you." (Hebrews 13:5)
