Record To Remember 1 Sam 3:9  #RTTBROS #Nightlight

Therefore Eli said unto Samuel, Go, lie down: and it shall be, if he call thee, that thou shalt say, Speak, LORD; for thy servant heareth”.

Adrian Rogers says to Read the Bible with a pencil in your hand, so you are prepared to hear God speak to you, you can preserve the message by writing it down. Don't trust your memory after all a short pencil is better than trusting a strong memory

As I open my Bible each day, I am reminded that this is no ordinary book. These words contain the very voice of God, whispered into the hearts and minds of the biblical writers so long ago. Yet as Adrian Rogers wisely counsels, I cannot simply read and expect to retain all that God wants to speak to me. I need to come with pencil in hand, ready to capture His message.

So I sit with my pencil poised over the thin pages. I pray for ears to hear and eyes to see the truths You want to impart today. Give me understanding of what I read, O Lord. Grant me insight into applying it to my life. May the lead of this pencil preserve Your voice so that I do not forget what You say to me.

Speak Lord, for your servant is listening. I am here, pencil in hand, ready to receive Your word and respond in obedience. Use Your living and active word to pierce my heart, to correct and rebuke, to teach and train me in righteousness. Though my memory is weak, with pencil in hand, Your voice can guide me always through the words preserved on these pages. Sharpen my mind, Lord, to understand and live out all You speak. You promise that Your word never returns void but accomplishes Your purposes. So I come with open ears, ready heart and pencil in hand. Speak Lord, your servant is listening.
