Unexpected #RTTBROS #Nightlight

Unexpected Isa 55:8 #RTTBROS #Nightlight

Unexpected

"For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, saith the Lord." Isaiah 55:8 (KJV)

We often come to God with specific requests and desires, asking for certain outcomes and solutions. In our minds, we have a set idea of how God should respond. But God, in His infinite wisdom and love, knows what is truly best for us. As Isaiah 55:8 reminds us, "For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, saith the Lord." Though His ways are higher than our ways, He cares deeply about the petitions of our hearts.

When we pray for a cake, but are given the ingredients to bake one instead, God is teaching us to partner with Him. He wants us to trust in His provision and walk in obedience, even when the answer doesn't look like what we imagined. God is concerned with our growth and maturity, not just giving handouts. He desires intimacy with us.

We see this in the Bible when God provides manna in the wilderness rather than an all-you-can-eat buffet. The Israelites had to trust God one day at a time. Or when God responds to Paul's thorn in the flesh with grace rather than healing. His strength was made perfect in Paul's weakness.

Let's bring our requests to God believing that He will answer according to His timing and wisdom. Even if the response seems confusing at first, trust that God knows what we need better than we know ourselves. Thank Him for His faithfulness and lovingkindness, for blessings come in unexpected forms. And when we ask for cake, let's joyfully commence with some baking! Our loving Father has already supplied all the ingredients.

The Compass #Nightlight #RTTBROS

The Compass Of Purpose Jer 29:11 #RTTBROS #Nightlight

The Compass Of Purpose: Rediscovering Purpose with Christ

"For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the Lord, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end" (Jeremiah 29:11, KJV). Have you ever felt adrift, lost in a fog of uncertainty and doubt? The compass of purpose seems to spin wildly, offering no clear direction. This feeling, dear friend, is shared by countless souls throughout history. Even biblical figures like Moses, Elijah, and Jonah grappled with moments of lost direction.

But amidst the fog, God's promise in Jeremiah 29:11 shines like a beacon. He whispers, I know the plans I have for you, plans not of misfortune, but of peace and purpose.  Preachers of old were fond of reminding us that "God doesn't call the equipped; He equips the called." Our purpose, then, isn't something we need to frantically search for, but rather a path that unfolds as we walk hand-in-hand with the Divine.

Adrian Rogers further illuminates this truth by stating, "Your purpose is not found in your position, your possessions, or your profession. Your purpose is found in a Person: Jesus Christ." It's in this relationship, in surrendering our hearts to Him, that our unique gifts and passions align with His grand design. We become instruments, vessels through which His love flows and His purpose unfolds.

So, how do we rediscover this God-given purpose in the midst of confusion? Firstly, let's quiet the inner noise. Spend time in prayer and reflection, seeking God's guidance. Listen for the whispers of your heart, the passions that ignite your soul. Remember, He has placed these desires within you for a reason.

Secondly, step outside yourself. Look for opportunities to serve others, to use your gifts to make a difference. As you connect with the needs around you, your purpose will begin to take shape. Remember, the greatest joys in life often lie in giving, not getting.

Finally, trust the process. God's timing is perfect, even when it feels frustratingly slow. Embrace the journey, the stumbles and the triumphs, for each step, guided by faith, leads you closer to fulfilling your purpose.

So, dear friend, take a deep breath and release the grip of doubt. Remember, you are not a compassless soul lost in the fog. You are a beloved child of God, walking hand-in-hand with your Divine Guide. Trust His promises, listen to your heart, and step into the service of others. In doing so, you'll discover that your purpose wasn't lost; it was simply waiting to be revealed, one beautiful step at a time.

Thy God. Deut 4:37#RTTBROS #Nightlight

Thy God. Deut 4:37#RTTBROS #Nightlight

Our reading today comes from Deuteronomy 4:37- "And because he loved thy fathers, therefore he chose their seed after them, and brought thee out in his sight with his mighty power out of Egypt." This verse reminds us that the Lord our God is a personal, relational God. He refers to Himself possessively as "thy God" in other passages to convey intimacy.

The God of the Bible is not some distant, detached deity. He loved and chose the Israelites, delivering them powerfully. This verbs like "loved" and "chose" reveal God's deep care for His people. He initiates relationship with us.

God could have simply called Himself "the God" but instead He says "thy God." He wants us to take hold of Him in a personal way, not approach him formally. He is our God, belonging to us, just as we belong to Him. What a comfort!

We can call on the Lord our God intimately, knowing He hears us (Psalm 145:18). We need not cry out to some far-off supreme being. The Lord our God invites us to converse with Him, casting every care on Him (1 Peter 5:7).

God cares about the details of our lives. As Deuteronomy 4:7 states "For what nation is there so great, who hath God so nigh unto them, as the LORD our God is in all things that we call upon him for?" He is near, involved in all things we face.

Let us thank God today that He is not a detached, impersonal deity. Through Christ, we have access to Him as our God, personally relating with Him. We can boldly approach His throne of grace (Hebrews 4:16) knowing the Lord our God cares for us deeply. What a blessing to serve a God who wants intimacy with us!

No Repentance No Revival by Norman Kissinger #NK #NormanKissinger #RTTBROS #Nightlight

No Repentance No Revival by  Norman Kissinger  #NK #NormanKissinger  #RTTBROS #Nightlight

No Repentance No Revival

"Little children, keep yourselves from idols." (1 John 5:21 KJV)

Idolatry is a dangerous yet tempting sin that we must vigilantly guard against as believers. Anything we put before God in our lives becomes an idol that distracts us from wholly following Him. Money, relationships, work, hobbies, entertainment - all these things can subtly take God's rightful place.

The key to experiencing personal and corporate revival is repenting and removing the idols from our hearts and lives. We cannot fill ourselves with the Holy Spirit while clinging to lesser things. True repentance requires surrendering our idols and realigning our priorities to make God number one.

When we throw off idolatry, God can then use us powerfully for His kingdom purposes. We become conduits of His love, vessels to share the Gospel, and witnesses to draw others to Him. Our greatest spiritual impact comes when we are fully submitted to the Lord without competition from idols.

May we search our hearts and lives and allow God to reveal any idols. Let us repent quickly and walk in the freedom and power that comes from making God our highest treasure. As we tear down the altars of idolatry, we clear the way for God to bring revival to our personal lives, churches, communities, and nation.

Lord, reveal any idols in our hearts. Give us the courage to remove them and make You our greatest love. Fill us fresh with Your Holy Spirit so we can walk in power and be used for Your glory. Revive us personally and corporately as we repent of idolatry.
