Hebrews 11:1 (KJV), it says “Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.”

"God delights to increase the faith of His children. We ought, instead of wanting no trials before victory, no exercise for patience, to be willing to take them from God’s hand as a means. I say—and say it deliberately—trials, obstacles, difficulties, and sometimes defeats, are the very food of faith…We should take them out of His hands as evidences of His love and care for us in developing more and more that faith which He is seeking to strengthen in us.”—George Mueller

This quote by George Mueller is a great reminder that we should not be afraid of trials and difficulties in our lives. Instead of wanting no trials before victory or no exercise for patience, we should be willing to take them from God’s hand as a means. Trials, obstacles, difficulties and sometimes defeats are the very food of faith. We should take them out of His hands as evidences of His love and care for us in developing more and more that faith which He is seeking to strengthen in us.

In Hebrews 11:1 (KJV), it says “Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.” This verse reminds us that faith is not just a feeling or an idea, It is something that we can hold on to even when we cannot see what is ahead. Faith is the evidence that God is working in our lives even when we cannot see it.

In conclusion, let us remember that God delights to increase our faith. We should be willing to take trials and difficulties from His hand as a means to strengthen our faith. Faith is not just a feeling or an idea but it is a something that we can hold on to even when we cannot see what is ahead. Let us trust in God’s love and care for us as He develops more and more that faith which He is seeking to strengthen in us.

1. Meditate on God’s desire to bring you rest. Allow Scripture to renew your mind and transform the way you make decisions and live.

“Six days you shall work, but on the seventh day you shall rest

2. Where have you forgone rest for busyness and work? In what ways have you allowed society to influence you more than God’s word?

3. Confess to God any ways in which you have forsaken rest and receive his forgiveness. Ask God to fill you with a fresh vision for his purposes behind rest. Ask him to guide you into a lifestyle of taking a Sabbath. Rest in him right now, and allow him to replenish and rejuvenate you with his presence.

28 “Come to Me, all who are weary and heavily burdened [by religious rituals that provide no peace], and I will give you rest [refreshing your souls with salvation]. 29 Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me [following Me as My disciple], for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest (renewal, blessed quiet) for your souls. 30 For My yoke is easy [to bear] and My burden is light.”

Faith is an essential part of prayer. The Bible tells us that “faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen” (Hebrews 11:1). It is through faith that we can approach God in prayer and receive His blessings.

In Matthew 21:22, Jesus says, “And all things, whatsoever ye shall ask in prayer, believing, ye shall receive.” This verse emphasizes the importance of faith in prayer. When we pray with faith, we can be confident that God will answer our prayers according to His will.

God responds to our faith in prayer, not just our needs. In James 5:16, it says “The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much.” This verse tells us that it is not just the words we say in prayer that matter but also the attitude of our hearts. When we pray with faith and sincerity, God hears us and responds.

 Not as though I had already attained, either were already perfect but I follow after, if that I may apprehend that for which also I am apprehended of Christ Jesus. Brethren, I count not myself to have apprehended but this one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are before, I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus Philippians 3:12-14

In an excellent devotion by Dr. Paul Chappel I cam across this illustration of Focus.

"During the Peninsular Campaign, the Duke of Wellington was leading the combined British and Spanish armies fighting against Napoleon. The French emperor had conquered much of Europe, and Wellington was struggling to push him out of Spain. After finding himself repeatedly hounded for a detailed and in-depth accounting of how the army was spending funds, Wellington dashed off a letter laying out and apologizing for a shortage of one shilling and nine pence in a petty cash fund. Then he wrote: "This brings me to my present purpose, which is to request elucidation of my instructions from His Majesty's Government, so that I may better understand why I am dragging an army over these barren plains. I construe that perforce it must be one of two alternative duties, as given below. I shall pursue either one with the best of my ability but I cannot do both: 1. To train an army of uniformed British clerks in Spain for the benefit of the accountant and copy boys in London or, perchance, 2. To see to it that the forces of Napoleon are driven out of Spain."

Wellington rightly understood the power of focus and the danger of losing focus. History is repleate with examples of individuals who have maximized their contributions to humanity by having a powerful focus. For example, Einstein was focused on physics, Elon Musk is focused on technology and Shakespeare focused on writing. Warren Buffett, Alexander Graham Bell, Thomas Edison.

This power of focus can help us succeed in what we need to accomplish, but can I suggest an overarching focus?  Let's focus on hearing "Well done thou good and faithful servant" from the lips of our Father in Heaven.  If we can live as faithful Children of God, pleasing Him with how we live our lives we will have been truly successful

In Psalm 42:5. It says “Why art thou cast down, O my soul? and why art thou disquieted in me? hope thou in God: for I shall yet praise him for the help of his countenance.”

I have a bad habit I want to break called negative self talk, another name for it is A.N.T (Automatic Negative Thinking).  I find that I say stuff to myself I wouldn't say to my worst enemy.  That is not good, Satan is "the accuser of the breathern," and he wants to keep me on his destruction crew, wrecking my own life and effectiveness. I am ready to win this battle.

Psalm 42:5 is a verse that encourages the reader to hope in God and trust in His help. It is a reminder that God is always there for us and that we can rely on Him even when we feel down or discouraged.

This verse can be seen as an example of positive self-talk. By repeating the phrase “hope thou in God,” the psalmist is reminding himself to focus on the positive and trust in God’s help.

There are many verses in the bible that teach the importance of what we say to ourselves on a daily basis, here are just a few....

*Romans 12:2 - “And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.”
*Proverbs 23:7 - “For as he thinketh in his heart, so is he.”
*Philippians 4:8 - “Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.”

Let's saturate our souls with Scripture like this that can not only elevate our mood but also transform our minds.  When we win the battle in our minds we win the battle in life.

BEAUTY FOR ASHES Isa. 61:3  #Nightlight #RTTBROS 

Isaiah 61:3 KJV says “To appoint unto them that mourn in Zion, to give unto them beauty for ashes, the oil of joy for mourning, the garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness; that they might be called trees of righteousness, the planting of the Lord, that he might be glorified.” This verse is a promise of God’s restoration and transformation. It is a promise that God can transform our captivity into conquering, from sighing to singing and from groaning to glory.

God can take our brokenness and turn it into something beautiful. He can take our ashes and turn them into something new. He can take our mourning and turn it into joy. He can take our heaviness and turn it into praise. He can take our captivity and turn it into conquering.

God is in the business of transformation. He wants to transform us from the inside out. He wants to make us new creations in Christ Jesus. He wants to give us beauty for ashes, joy for mourning, and praise for heaviness.

So if you are feeling broken today, remember that God can transform your brokenness into something beautiful. If you are mourning today, remember that God can turn your mourning into joy. If you are feeling heavy today, remember that God can turn your heaviness into praise. And if you are feeling captive today, remember that God can turn your captivity into conquering.

Let us pray: Dear Lord, thank You for Your promise of restoration and transformation. Help us to trust You with our brokenness, mourning, heaviness, and captivity. Help us to believe that You can transform our lives from the inside out. Help us to be trees of righteousness, planted by You for Your glory. In Jesus’ name we pray, Amen.

Hiding Place Psalms 32:7 #Nightlight #RTTBROS  

 Psalm 32:7 KJV - 7 Thou art my hiding place; thou shalt preserve me from trouble; thou shalt compass me about with songs of deliverance. Selah.

We hear a lot about "safe space or safe place" I think I have one of those but it isn't a place instead it is a person, God. Before you dismiss the idea out of hand consider the above verse and the following thoughts.

In this verse, we see that God is our hiding place.

(Our safe space.) He is the one who protects us during the troubles that we face in life. This concept doesn't mean trouble won't come, but it does mean trouble won't destroy us. Think of a tornado shelter in the South, a family will shelter in one and the storm will rage without but they are not destroyed. They may have lost some things but they are not destroyed. When we are feeling overwhelmed and afraid, we can turn to Him for comfort and safety. He is always there for us, ready to wrap us in His loving arms and keep us safe.

 Remembering that God can work all things together for our good. We don't have to worry because God is always watching over us. He knows what we need before we even ask Him, and He is always ready to provide for us.

Finally, the verse says that God will compass us about with songs of deliverance. This means that He will surround us with His love and grace. When we are feeling down and discouraged, He will lift us up and give us hope. He will fill our hearts with joy and peace, and we will be able to sing His praises.

In conclusion, Psalm 32:7 is a beautiful reminder of God's love and protection for us. It tells us that we can always turn to Him for help and comfort, and that He will never leave us or forsake us. So let's take comfort in these words today and trust in God's unfailing love for us.
