Standing In Grace #RTTBROS #Nightlight

Consider 6 Thoughts toward standing strong in God's grace.

1. The Transparency of Scripture Unlike biographies that may overlook flaws, Scripture candidly reveals the faults of its heroes, teaching us that even in the wake of spiritual victories, we must be vigilant against potential defeats.

2. The Heroes’ Downfall Noah, despite his faithfulness in building the ark, fell into drunkenness post-flood. Abram, on his journey of faith, lied in Egypt, and David, after defeating Goliath, committed grave sins. Their stories serve as cautionary tales, reminding us of the dangers of complacency and self-reliance.

3. A.W. Pink’s Insight Theologian A.W. Pink noted .“God suffers it to appear that the best of men are but men at the best. No matter how richly gifted they may be, how eminent in God’s service, how greatly honoured and used of Him, let His sustaining power be withdrawn from them for a moment and it will quickly be seen that they are ‘earthen vessels.’ No man stands any longer than he is supported by Divine grace. The most experienced saint, if left to himself, is immediately seen to be as weak as water and as timid as a mouse.” This humbling truth emphasizes our need for divine support to stand firm.

4. God’s Sustaining Grace God graciously provides us with righteousness, salvation, truth, and His word, enabling us to withstand trials and temptations, not by our strength but through His enduring support.

God Of All Comfort #nightlight #RTTBROS

Verse:
2 Corinthians 1:3-4 (KJV) - "Blessed be God, even the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies, and the God of all comfort; Who comforteth us in all our tribulation, that we may be able to comfort them which are in any trouble, by the comfort wherewith we ourselves are comforted of God."

Devotion:
In this fallen world, we all face trials, tribulations, and suffering. As Christians, we are not exempt from these challenges. Even the Apostle Paul, a chosen vessel of God, endured immense hardships, including beatings, shipwrecks, and persecution. However, Paul understood that his suffering had a purpose – to bring comfort to others who were going through similar trials.

Just as Paul received comfort from God during his afflictions, we too can find solace in the Lord. God is the Father of mercies and the God of all comfort. He is with us in our darkest moments, providing strength, peace, and hope. When we turn to Him in prayer and trust in His unfailing love, He will guide us through the valleys and lead us to green pastures (Psalm 23:2-4).

Moreover, our suffering is not in vain. God uses our experiences to mold us into the image of His Son, Jesus Christ. As we navigate through the fires of adversity, the impurities in our lives rise to the surface, allowing us to repent and grow in faith. Just as a silversmith refines silver until he can see his reflection in it, God refines us until we reflect His character.

Furthermore, our trials equip us to minister to others who are hurting. By sharing the comfort we have received from God, we become a living testimony of His grace and mercy. Our stories of overcoming become a handbook of deliverance for those who are struggling. As we come alongside them with empathy and understanding, we point them to the ultimate source of comfort – our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

So, let us not lose heart when faced with tribulations. Instead, let us fix our eyes on Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith (Hebrews 12:2). May we allow God to use our suffering for His glory and the edification of His people. And may we always be ready to extend the same comfort we have received to those in need, knowing that our God is the God of all comfort.

The New Tool #RTTBROS #NIGHTLIGHT

Scripture: "Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light." (Matthew 11:28-30, KJV)

Devotion: In this passage, Jesus extends a loving invitation to all who are weary and burdened. Life in this fallen world is full of trials, hardships, and heavy loads that can exhaust us physically, mentally, and spiritually. But Jesus tells us to come to Him to find rest.

When we come to Jesus in faith, He doesn't remove all our burdens, but He gives us a new "yoke" - His yoke. In ancient times, a yoke was a wooden crosspiece fastened over the necks of two animals to help them work together in pulling a load. Jesus says His yoke is easy and His burden is light. When we are yoked together with Him, He carries the weight and guides us.

What makes Jesus' yoke easy is that He is "meek and lowly in heart." He is gentle, humble, and understanding. He knows our weaknesses and limitations. When we walk closely with Him and learn from Him, we find rest for our souls even in the midst of life's burdens.

Being yoked with Jesus doesn't mean a trouble-free life, but it means facing troubles with His strength, guidance and companionship. It's a shared burden and a shared journey. May we accept Jesus' invitation daily to cast our cares on Him and find rest in relationship with Him.

Prayer: Lord Jesus, thank You for Your incredible invitation to find rest for my soul. Forgive me for trying to carry my burdens in my own strength. I come to You now, weary and heavy-laden, and ask You to yoke me together with Yourself. Teach me Your ways and help me to walk in step with You. Thank You for Your gentleness, Your understanding, and Your sustaining presence. In Your name I pray, Amen.

The Silversmiths Reflection #RTTBROS #Nightlight

The Silversmith’s Reflection

In the heat of the fire, a silversmith works diligently, refining silver until it’s pure. He explains that the silver must be kept in the hottest part of the flame to burn away all impurities. His constant attention ensures it doesn’t burn; he knows it’s ready when he sees his own image reflected in the gleaming metal.

just as the silversmith sees his image in the refined silver, God watches over us through our trials until He sees His reflection in us.

In the midst of trials, it may seem easier to falter and lose hope. But remember, it is the testing of our faith that produces perseverance. Let us embrace these challenges, not as burdens, but as opportunities to grow closer to God, to lean on His strength, and to renew our faith.

As we continue to endure, let us do so with joy, knowing that the trials we face are not in vain. They are shaping us, molding us into the image of Christ, preparing us for the eternal glory that awaits.

So let us stand firm, with our eyes fixed on the Lord, for He is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble. And in His perfect time, He will stablish, strengthen, and settle us, making us perfect and complete, lacking nothing.

If today you are feeling the heat of the fire, remember that God has His eye on you and will keep watching you until He sees His image reflected in you.

The Power of Constant Prayer #RTTBROS #Nightlight

"Pray without ceasing." - 1 Thessalonians 5:17 (KJV)

Our lives are filled with ups and downs, joys and sorrows, triumphs and challenges. In the midst of life's ever-changing landscape, there is one constant that can keep us grounded, encouraged, and filled with hope: prayer. As the unknown author wisely stated, "For a better morning talk with God First. For a Better night talk with God last. For a better life talk with God all day."

Just as wings enable a bird to soar high above the earth, and sails harness the wind to propel a ship across the sea, so too does prayer uplift and carry our souls through life's journey. Corrie Ten Boom, a woman of great faith who endured the horrors of a concentration camp, knew the sustaining power of prayer. She likened it to the very wings and sails that keep one aloft and moving forward.

The Bible urges us to "pray without ceasing" (1 Thess. 5:17). This doesn't mean we spend every waking moment on our knees, but rather that we cultivate an attitude of constant communion with God. Whether we're rejoicing on the mountaintops or trudging through the valleys, God is always ready and eager to hear from us.

As we begin and end each day talking with our Heavenly Father, and continually turn our thoughts to Him throughout the day, we experience the peace, strength, wisdom and joy that only He can provide. Let us commit to a life of constant prayer, trusting that God will guide, provide and sustain us every step of the way.

Unveiling the Unseen: Extending Grace in Life's Hidden Struggles

Bible Verse: "And be ye kind one to another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God for Christ's sake hath forgiven you." - Ephesians 4:32 (KJV)

Devotion:

In the hustle and bustle of daily life, it's easy to get caught up in our own struggles and forget that everyone around us is fighting battles we know nothing about. The car with the "Learning stick sorry for any delay" sign serves as a poignant reminder of this truth.

Just as we extend patience and understanding to the driver learning to shift gears, we should offer the same grace to everyone we encounter. The Bible tells us in Ephesians 4:32 to "be ye kind one to another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God for Christ's sake hath forgiven you."

We may not see the signs of personal struggles, but they are there. Hidden beneath the surface, people are going through divorces, losing loved ones, battling depression, and facing life-altering diagnoses. As Adrian Rogers once said, "You never know what someone is going through. Be kind always."

Kindness and patience should not be contingent on what we see or what we think someone deserves. Instead, we should extend love and grace freely, just as Christ has done for us. We are called to be a light in this world, offering hope and compassion to those who are hurting.

Today, let us challenge ourselves to look beyond the surface and treat everyone with an extra measure of patience, kindness, and love. We may never know the impact of our actions, but we can trust that God will use our obedience to touch lives and heal hearts.

Remember, "Blessed are the merciful: for they shall obtain mercy" (Matthew 5:7, KJV). As we extend grace to others, we open ourselves up to receive God's grace in our own lives.

The Debt Rom 6:23 #Nightlight #RTTBROS

The Debt We Cannot Pay

Verse: "For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord." - Romans 6:23 (KJV)

In this story, a British pastor and his young son entered an expensive store with a strict policy: "Do not touch any breakages, much must be purchased." Despite the clear warning, the pastor found himself gently touching the items around him. However, his 4-year-old son, Michael, was not as gentle and accidentally knocked over a large, expensive item.

The store manager appeared, simply pointing to the sign. The pastor knew he couldn't leave the store and expect his young son to pay for the damage he had caused. Michael was unable to pay the debt he owed.

This story serves as a powerful reminder of our own spiritual condition. We all have sinned and fallen short of God's glory (Romans 3:23). Just like Michael, we have created a debt that we cannot pay on our own. The wages of our sin is death, and we are unable to redeem ourselves.

But God, in His infinite love and mercy, provided a way for our debt to be paid. He sent His Son, Jesus Christ, to die on the cross for our sins. Through His death and resurrection, Jesus paid the price that we could never afford. He is the way, the truth, and the life, and no one comes to the Father except through Him (John 14:6).

Just as the pastor had to pay for his son's damages, our Heavenly Father has paid our sin debt through Jesus Christ. When we accept this precious gift by faith, our debt is canceled, and we receive the promise of eternal life.

Let us give thanks for the incredible love and sacrifice of our Savior, who paid a debt He did not owe because we owed a debt we could not pay. May we live our lives in gratitude and devotion to Him.
