REMEBER THE BENEFITS Psalms 103:2-5 #Nightlight #RTTBROS

REMEBER THE BENEFITS Psalms 103:2-5  #Nightlight #RTTBROS

"Bless the LORD, O my soul, and forget not all his benefits: Who forgiveth all thine iniquities; Who healeth all thy diseases; Who redeemeth thy life from destruction; Who crowneth thee with lovingkindness and tender mercies; Who satisfieth thy mouth with good things; so that thy youth is renewed like the eagle's." (Psalm 103:2-5 KJV)

The Psalmist David reminds us of the many benefits we receive from God. He forgives our sins, heals our diseases, redeems us from destruction, crowns us with love and mercy, and satisfies our desires with good things. We should never forget these benefits and always be grateful for them.

God's forgiveness is a gift that we do not deserve. We have all sinned and fallen short of God's glory (Romans 3:23). But God sent His Son Jesus Christ to die on the cross for our sins so that we could be forgiven and have eternal life (John 3:16). When we confess our sins to God, He is faithful and just to forgive us (1 John 1:9).

God's healing power is also a gift that we can receive through faith. Jesus healed many people during His ministry on earth, and He still heals today. We can pray for healing for ourselves or others and trust that God will answer our prayers according to His will (James 5:14-15).

God's redemption is another gift that we can receive through faith in Jesus Christ. He has redeemed us from the curse of sin and death and given us eternal life (Galatians 3:13-14). We are no longer slaves to sin but are free to live for God (Romans 6:22).

God's love and mercy are also gifts that we can receive through faith in Jesus Christ. He loves us with an everlasting love (Jeremiah 31:3) and has shown us mercy by not giving us what we deserve (Psalm 103:10). We can trust in His love and mercy every day of our lives.

The Farther Country Luke 15 #nightlight #RTTBROS

The Farther Country Luke 15  #Nightlight #RTTBROS

The Farther Country Luke 15
The story of the prodigal son in Luke chapter 15 is a powerful reminder of the love and grace of our Heavenly Father. It also teaches us an important lesson about chasing after those who have strayed from the path of righteousness.

In verse 13, we read that the prodigal son "took his journey into a far country, and there wasted his substance with riotous living." This is a clear indication that the son had already made up his mind to leave and was not interested in staying with his father any longer. If the father had chased after him, he would have only run further and faster away from him.

Sometimes, we may find ourselves in a similar situation where we have a loved one who has strayed from the faith or is living a life that is contrary to God's will. Our natural instinct may be to chase after them and try to bring them back to the fold. However, we must remember that just like the prodigal son, they have to make the decision to come back on their own.

In verse 20, we see the father's response when the prodigal son finally returns home. "And he arose, and came to his father. But when he was yet a great way off, his father saw him, and had compassion, and ran, and fell on his neck, and kissed him." The father did not chase after his son, but he was always watching and waiting for him to return. When the son finally did come back, the father welcomed him with open arms and showed him unconditional love and forgiveness.

This is a powerful reminder that God is always watching and waiting for us to return to Him. He does not force us to come back, but He is always ready to welcome us with open arms when we do. We must trust in His timing and have faith that He will bring our loved ones back to Him in His own way and in His own time.

In conclusion, the story of the prodigal son teaches us that chasing after a prodigal may only cause them to run further away. Instead, we must trust in God's timing and have faith that He will bring them back to Him in His own way and in His own time. Let us always remember that our Heavenly Father is always watching and waiting for us to return to Him, and He will welcome us with open arms when we do.

The Power Of Forgiveness Eph 4:32 #Nightlight #RTTBROS

The Power Of Forgiveness Eph 4:32  #Nightlight #RTTBROS

The Power of Forgiveness
Scripture: "And be ye kind one to another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God for Christ's sake hath forgiven you." - Ephesians 4:32 (KJV)
Devotional:

In his book "Tale of the Tardy Oxcart," Chuck Swindoll shares a touching illustration that reminds us of the power of forgiveness.

The story goes like this: A young boy was playing with his slingshot when he accidentally hit and killed a bird. He felt terrible about what he had done, but he didn't know what to do.

He decided to take the bird to his neighbor, an old woman who was known for her kindness and compassion. He hoped that she would be able to help him.

When he arrived at her house, he was trembling with fear and guilt. He showed her the dead bird and told her what had happened. To his surprise, she didn't scold him or lecture him. Instead, she took the bird from him and held it gently in her hands.

She looked at the boy with tears in her eyes and said, "You know, I was once like that bird. I was wounded and broken, and I didn't know where to turn. But someone showed me kindness and forgiveness, and it changed my life. Now, I want to do the same for you."

The old woman then took the boy's hand and prayed with him, asking God to forgive him and to heal his heart. The boy left her house feeling lighter and freer than he had in a long time.

This story reminds us of the power of forgiveness. When we forgive others, we not only free them from guilt and shame, but we also free ourselves from bitterness and resentment. Forgiveness is a gift that we give to ourselves as well as to others.

The Bible tells us to be kind and tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God has forgiven us. We must follow God's example and extend grace and mercy to those who have wronged us.

So today, let us choose to forgive those who have hurt us, just as we have been forgiven by God. Let us show kindness and compassion to those who are wounded and broken, just as the old woman did for the young boy. And let us trust in God's power to heal our hearts and restore our relationships as we seek to live in forgiveness and love.

Enduring Mercy

by Dr. Paul Chappell

And when the builders laid the foundation of the temple of the LORD, they set the priests in their apparel with trumpets, and the Levites the sons of Asaph with cymbals, to praise the LORD, after the ordinance of David king of Israel. And they sang together by course in praising and giving thanks unto the LORD; because he is good, for his mercy endureth for ever toward Israel. And all the people shouted with a great shout, when they praised the LORD, because the foundation of the house of the LORD was laid.

Ezra 3:10-11

All of us know what it is like to run out of things. We run out of gas in the car or we run out money before the end of the month. We run out time before the end of the day to get everything done, or we run out of energy to complete all the tasks on our list. That never happens to God. And in His great love and compassion, He extends unfailing and unending mercy to us over and over and over again. Charles Spurgeon said, “God’s mercy is so great that you may sooner drain the sea of its water, or deprive the sun of its light, or make space too narrow, than diminish the great mercy of God.”

No matter how often we go to Him for help, God never runs out of patience with our requests or of mercy to extend us the forgiveness and help that we so urgently need. The mercy of God should be at the center of our expressions of gratitude to God both in public and in private. We should praise Him for extending that mercy to us, because it is only because of His goodness to us that receive it. “It is of the LORD'S mercies that we are not consumed, because his compassions fail not. They are new every morning: great is thy faithfulness” (Lamentations 3:22-23).

Today's Growth Principle:
No matter who else or what else fails you as you go through life, God's mercy never will.
