Growing Pains #RTTBROS #nightlight
Growing Pains #RTTBROS #nightlight
Iron sharpeneth iron; so a man sharpeneth the countenance of his friend Pro 27:17
Growing Pains
God loves us deeply, just as we are. Yet His love also compels Him to mold us into the people He knows we can become by His grace. As Charles Spurgeon said, “God has designed us to grow.” Everything in God’s creation grows and develops, including us.
While God cares about our struggles, He cares even more about the character and maturity that can emerge from difficult seasons. He wants to use all of life’s circumstances, pleasant or painful, to stimulate our growth into the stature of Christ (Ephesians 4:13). God is firmly on the side of who you can become in Him.
We might prefer comfort over the growing pains that come with change and maturing. But spiritual growth is not optional for the follower of Jesus. Through the sanctifying work of the Spirit, God develops emotional stability, mental acuity, physical discipline, and spiritual vibrancy in us. He uses relationships, trials, teaching, and time in His Word to transform us incrementally into the image of Jesus (2 Corinthians 3:18).
In the King James Version of the Bible, Proverbs 27:17 reads, "Iron sharpeneth iron; so a man sharpeneth the countenance of his friend".
Some say that the meaning of "iron sharpens iron" is that believers have an impact on each other when they interact. In other words we are on the side of who the other person can become, we are rooting for them to grow and change and we grow right alongside them. Some ways of sharpening one another include:
Calling out sin
Encouraging each other
Lifting one another up in prayer
Allowing others to see weaknesses or problem areas.
Let's appreciate the people God sends our way who care enough to confront us and help us grow. Don't be bitter when the try to make you better.

Avoid The Crash 2 Cpr 5:7 #RTTBROS #nightlight
Avoid The Crash 2 Cpr 5:7 #RTTBROS #nightlight
7 (For we walk by faith, not by sight:) 2 Cor 5:7
The following explains how we can gain emotional stability in time of trials and suffering:
"While piloting a plane in a thick fog, a pilot cannot be sure of his direction unless he gives full attention to his instruments. When flying through a thunderstorm, the turbulence will throw him about, and the darkness within the clouds will threaten to disorient him. Sometimes he will feel as though he is going up or down or turning around. But he cannot depend on his feelings. Only the gyros can be trusted, so the pilot must hang on to the controls in the turbulence and discipline his mind to concentrate on the instruments while he flies through the storm.
The parallel truth for the Christian in troubled times is clear. Undisciplined feelings…can cause a crash unless one keeps himself stabilized by the facts of the Word of God…Every promise in the Word of God is like a gyro giving information to stabilize him in a specific situation…With daily practice one learns not to panic but to believe a specific truth from the Bible fitted for his own unique circumstances. By experience one learns not to fight his feelings, but to look away from them to the “instrument panel” of the Word of God which is utterly dependable.
One discovers that if he will just hang on in the worst of the turbulence, no matter how disrupting, his mind and heart steadied by the great truths of the Word and his eyes intently fixed on God Himself, he will eventually break through rain-black clouds to soar once more in the clear, tranquil atmosphere."

2 Steps Forward, 1 Step Back Psalm 37:23-24 #RTTBROS #nightlight
2 Steps Forward, 1 Step Back Psalm 37:23-24 #RTTBROS #nightlight
“The steps of a good man are ordered by the Lord: and he delighteth in his way. Though he fall, he shall not be utterly cast down: for the Lord upholdeth him with his hand.” (Psalm 37:23-24)
In our walk with God, it's easy to get discouraged when we stumble. We take two steps forward in our faith, only to suddenly take one step back into old habits or sin. We pray, read scripture, serve in church, then suddenly fall back into anxiety, anger, or apathy.
It's easy to get down on ourselves and wonder if we'll ever make steady progress. But this passage gives us hope. Even when the "good man" falls, he will not be utterly cast down, because the Lord upholds him. God views us not based on a moment of failure, but the overall trajectory of our walk with Him. The word "ordered" also reminds us that it's God charting our path, not our own shaky strength.
What do we do when we stumble? First, repent, ask forgiveness, and gratefully receive God's mercy. But dwelling on guilt slows our pace. The best response is to humbly get back on the path, knowing God uses our falls to teach dependence on Him alone. By His strength, one step back only serves to propel us two steps forward as we learn and grow.
The next time you take one step back after two steps forward, remember God upholds you. Place your hope in His power, not your own. Keep your eyes on the loving Creator charting your steps. No matter the stumbles on the journey, He who began a good work in you is faithful to carry it to completion. Our falls do not change God's delights or derail His plans when we rely wholly on His hand.

Robbed A Thanksgiving Devotion #RTTBROS #nightlight
Robbed A Thanksgiving Devotion #RTTBROS #nightlight
"In every thing give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you." (1 Thessalonians 5:18 KJV)
The great Bible commentator Matthew Henry lived out this verse after a thief stole his wallet. Rather than rage or despair, Henry responded with grace and gratitude. First, he thanked God that he had never been robbed before. Though now deprived, Henry reflected on years of provision and safety. Second, though robbed of his purse, the thief did not take Henry’s life or possessions; many suffer far worse violations. Third, Henry lost little of value, acknowledging that earthly wealth can disappear quickly. As Job endured much worse calamity yet still praised God saying, “Naked came I out of my mother's womb, and naked shall I return thither: the Lord gave, and the Lord hath taken away; blessed be the name of the Lord.” (Job 1:21 KJV). Finally, Henry thanked God that he was a victim of robbery, not a perpetrator of it.
Charles Spurgeon once preached, “A grateful heart will see good even in the darkest days.” Despite his loss, with grace and wisdom Henry saw blessings to be thankful for. May we emulate his godly perspective, as Spurgeon exhorted: “Come, my heart, begin your hallelujahs...Boast thyself in God...Bless the Lord throughout this day; bless Him while you live.” God uses all circumstances for our growth if we respond rightly.

Devoted To Prayer #RTTBROS #normankissinger #nightlight #NK
Devoted To Prayer #RTTBROS #normankissinger #nightlight #NK
If you are involved in ministry in any significant way you will be attacked by the enemy to discourage or distract you. This will happen in a prayer ministry as well. In Acts 6:4 we are allowed to glimpse the importance of prayer in the early Church. Deacons were appointed to do the physical ministry so the apostles could give themselves to the ministry of Prayer and the ministry of the Word.
So deepening out prayer life and digging into the Word to minister into the lives of others is paramount. We are better at getting the gospel out but we have lost the art of effective prayer.
For me it is easier to preach then to pray. The disciples never asked Jesus to teach them to preach they did ask instruction from him on prayer.
What can you change in your schedule to make prayer a priority?
How can you spend more time in God's Word.

Found and Loved Luke 15:4 #nightlight #RTTBROS
Found and Loved Luke 15:4 #nightlight #RTTBROS
Found and Loved
"What man of you, having an hundred sheep, if he lose one of them, doth not leave the ninety and nine in the wilderness, and go after that which is lost, until he find it?" (Luke 15:4 KJV)
As the weary parent wraps their arms around the lost child, tears of relief and joy stream down their face. Yet there is also a somber recognition that this reunion could have ended differently. We too, like lost sheep, have been relentlessly pursued by our Good Shepherd, who "so loved the world that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish but have everlasting life." (John 3:16 KJV).
As Charles Spurgeon said, "What a blessing that Jesus did not say, ‘I will seek until I find some of my sheep!’" No, he goes after each lost sheep until he finds it, however difficult the search. We have been loved with an intimate and tenacious love beyond measure. Let us then live in wonder and gratitude for the Seeking Shepherd who brings home His lost sheep. As Adrian Rogers said "God demonstrated His love when Christ died for us while we were still sinners." It could have ended differently, but by God's grace we have been found and loved.

Coal Basket Ps119: 11 #nightlight #RTTBROS
Coal Basket Ps119: 11 #nightlight #RTTBROS
Psalm 119:11 says "Thy word have I hid in mine heart, that I might not sin against thee." This verse reminds us that memorizing and meditating on God's Word keeps us from sin.
Little Johnny was visiting his grandfather on summer vacation. One day grandpa was reading his Bible like he did every morning. "Haven't you read that book front to back yet?" Johnny asked. Grandpa chuckled, "Come here, I want to show you something."
He took a coal basket and had Johnny fill it with water from the creek. Of course, all the water drained out through the loose weave. "Now do it again but faster," said grandpa. Johnny ran and filled the basket, but the water leaked out just the same. After a third try, grandpa asked "What happened to the basket?" Johnny replied, "Well the water didn't stay in, but the basket sure got clean!"
Grandpa smiled and said "It's like that with reading the Bible. We may have trouble retaining it all, but meditating on God's word has a way of cleaning out the clutter in our lives." As Gypsy Smith said, "It isn't how many times you've been through the Bible, but how many times the Bible has been through you."
The more we read Scripture, the more it washes over us like water through a basket, rinsing away the sin and dust of the world. The psalmist said he hid God's word in his heart to keep from sinning. As Adrian Rogers explained, "The Bible is a cleansing agent and will clean up your life." May we eagerly soak up its life-changing power every day!
The Bible renews our minds and transforms us as we soak in its inspiration. Drinking deeply of Scripture keeps the spiritual basket of our soul cleansed. Then we can carry the refreshing water of God's wisdom to quench the thirsty hearts around us.

Battle Prayer #RTTBROS #NIGHTLIGHT #NORMANKISSINGER ##NK
Battle Prayer
"But the prince of the kingdom of Persia withstood me one and twenty days: but, lo, Michael, one of the chief princes, came to help me; and I remained there with the kings of Persia." - Daniel 10:13 KJV
In our spiritual battles, we often face opposition from forces we cannot see. The prince of Persia withstood the angel bringing revelation to Daniel for 21 days. Though we grow weary in the fight, we must remember we are not alone. God sends His angels to aid us, just as Michael was sent to help the messenger to Daniel.
As Adrian Rogers said, "We are in a battle, and we cannot afford to lose this battle. It's a battle for truth, a battle for life, a battle for love, a battle for the family." We must keep praying and fighting, even when the battle seems endless. Surgeon says, "Ten minutes in prayer will save ten hours in effort." Let us spend time daily in prayer, petitioning God for strength and wisdom for the fight.
Though the world rages against God's truths, we can stand firm. The battle belongs to the Lord, and He has overcome the world. Our prayers activate heaven to fight on our behalf. Keep praying without ceasing. The victory is assured in Christ.

Understanding The Assignment 1 Cor 2:2 #nightlight #RTTBROS
Understanding The Assignment 1 Cor 2:2 #nightlight #RTTBROS
Understanding the Assignment
Verse: "For I determined not to know any thing among you, save Jesus Christ, and him crucified." - 1 Corinthians 2:2 (KJV)
In the vast tapestry of stories found within the Bible, one common thread emerges: the heroism of God. From Genesis to Revelation, we witness the protagonist of each narrative giving all glory to God for their triumph over insurmountable odds. As we delve into the depths of understanding the assignment of our faith, we come to realize that the ultimate hero is none other than our Heavenly Father.
In the verse from 1 Corinthians 2:2, the apostle Paul declares his determination to know nothing among the Corinthians except Jesus Christ and His crucifixion. This powerful statement sets the tone for our exploration of the Bible's narratives, revealing that the central focus is always on God and His redemptive plan for humanity.
Throughout the Bible, we encounter countless stories of individuals facing seemingly impossible challenges. From David and Goliath to Daniel in the lion's den, we witness heroes who overcome adversity not by their own strength, but by relying on the power and intervention of God. These stories serve as reminders that true heroism lies not in human abilities, but in surrendering to God's will.
As we journey through the Scriptures, we discover that God's heroes are marked by their unwavering faith and trust in Him. They understand that their accomplishments are not a result of their own prowess, but a manifestation of God's miraculous strength, wisdom, revelation, or healing. From Moses leading the Israelites out of Egypt to Esther saving her people, each protagonist attributes their success to the power of God working through them.
One of the key lessons we learn from these narratives is the importance of humility. God's heroes understand that they are merely vessels through which His glory shines. They recognize that it is not their own abilities or achievements that deserve praise, but rather the goodness and faithfulness of God. This realization leads them to give all honor and glory back to Him.
In our own lives, we are called to emulate these heroes of faith. We are to embrace the understanding that our strength, wisdom, revelation, and healing come from God alone. By recognizing and acknowledging His sovereignty, we can navigate through life's challenges with unwavering trust, knowing that He is our ultimate hero.
As we meditate on the biblical narratives, let us remember that understanding the assignment of our faith means recognizing that God is the hero of every story. His power, grace, and love are what enable us to overcome life's obstacles. May we, like the heroes of old, give all glory to God for His miraculous work in our lives. "Not unto us, O LORD, not unto us, but unto thy name give glory, for thy mercy, and for thy truth's sake." - Psalm 115:1 (KJV)

More Alive Jn 11:23-26 #nightlight #RTTBROS More Alive than Ever
More Alive Jn 11:23-26 #nightlight #RTTBROS
More Alive than Ever
by Dr. Paul Chappell
Jesus saith unto her, Thy brother shall rise again. Martha saith unto him, I know that he shall rise again in the resurrection at the last day. Jesus said unto her, I am the resurrection, and the life: he that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live: And whosoever liveth and believeth in me shall never die. Believest thou this?
John 11:23-26
One of the greatest and most common fears is the fear of death. Survey after survey shows that dying is dreaded by a vast majority of people. But for those of us who are saved, death holds no terror. The great evangelist D. L. Moody began his autobiography with these words: “Some day you will read in the papers that D. L. Moody, of East Northfield, is dead. Don’t you believe a word of it! At that moment I shall be more alive than I am now. I shall have gone up higher, that is all; out of this old clay tenement into a house that is immortal—a body that death cannot touch; that sin cannot taint; a body fashioned like unto His glorious body.”
In truth, the more we learn and understand about Heaven, the more we want to go there. There is work for us to do on this earth, but it is not our home. Paul explained the conflict this way: “For I am in a strait betwixt two, having a desire to depart, and to be with Christ; which is far better: Nevertheless to abide in the flesh is more needful for you” (Philippians 1:23-24). Because of our salvation, if we experience death, it will merely be the door that leads us into the presence of God for all eternity. When we reach Heaven, everything will be perfect. All of the burdens and heartaches and diseases and infirmities will be gone forever. All of the temptations and besetting sins we have battled will be behind us. We will truly be more alive than ever before.
Today's Growth Principle:
Death no longer has the power to terrorize a Christian because we know where we are going.

LIFTER Gal 6:2 #nightlight #RTTBROS
LIFTER Gal 6:2 #nightlight #RTTBROS
"Bear ye one another's burdens, and so fulfil the law of Christ." - Galatians 6:2 (KJV)
We all have burdens to bear. Sorrows that weigh heavy on our hearts, grief that stoops our shoulders. There are days when the road seems too hard, the pain too deep. When we feel like leaners, needing someone to lift us up.
But we are also called to be lifters. To come alongside our brothers and sisters and help carry their loads. We fulfill the law of Christ when we make the choice to walk with others in their suffering. When we listen without judging, comfort without condemning, help without lecturing. When we offer our hand in their darkness, speaking hope to their hearts.
As lifters, we point beyond ourselves to the God who lifts us all. The One who bore every burden on the cross so we could be free. Who welcomes the weary to bring their burdens to Him. There is grace enough for every leaner, strength enough for every lifter.
Today, look around you. See the leaners who need lifting up. Then breathe this prayer: "Lord, show me how to be a lifter." Share His hope. Speak His truth. Bear their burdens with His love. Be the light that lifts their eyes to Him.

The Long Haul Gal 6:9 #nightlight #RTTBROS
The Long Haul
"Let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not." - Galatians 6:9 (KJV)
It's easy to get impatient with progress. We want to see big results and we want them now. But real, lasting change often happens gradually, through small steps consistently taken over time.
Think of a long journey being undertaken on foot. It begins with a single step, then another and another. Mile by mile the destination draws nearer, though it may be weeks or months away. Each day's progress seems tiny compared to what lies ahead. Yet step by step the goal is reached.
In our lives and work, we must adopt this same patient persistence. Keep taking those small steps - read a little each day, save a bit each month, help one person at a time. Do not grow weary or lose heart. Your efforts are accumulating, though you may not notice it. Stay the course and in due time you will reap a bountiful harvest.
As Adrian Rogers said "What you are is God's gift to you, what you become is your gift to God." And as Lao Tzu put it: "The journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step." Keep stepping, friend. The long haul will be worth it

INDEFATIGABLE, 1 Cor. 15:58 #nightlight #RTTBROS
INDEFATIGABLE, 1 Cor. 15:58 #nightlight #RTTBROS
Indefatigable
"Therefore, my beloved brethren, be ye stedfast, unmoveable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, forasmuch as ye know that your labour is not in vain in the Lord." (1 Cor 15:58 KJV)
The word indefatigable means tireless or persisting tirelessly. As Christians, we are called to be indefatigable in our work for the Lord. Even when we face challenges, struggles, or persecution, we must remain steadfast and immovable in doing God's work.
As Adrian Rogers said, "The church that is married to the spirit of the age today will be a widow tomorrow." We cannot allow ourselves to grow weary or complacent in carrying out the Lord's work. The labor we do for His kingdom is never in vain.
John Wesley advised: "Do all the good you can, by all the means you can, in all the ways you can, in all the places you can, at all the times you can, to all the people you can, as long as ever you can." As indefatigable followers of Christ, we must persist in doing good to others and spreading the gospel message wherever and whenever we can.
John R. Mott summed it up well: "Little is much when God is in it." Our tireless efforts for God's kingdom, no matter how small or seemingly insignificant, have eternal value when done out of love for Him. May we all strive to be indefatigable for the glory of God.

The Pep Talk Josh 1:5-6 #nightlight #RTTBROS
The Pep Talk Josh 1:5-6 #nightlight #RTTBROS
There shall not any man be able to stand before thee all the days of thy life: as I was with Moses, so I will be with thee: I will not fail thee, nor forsake thee. Be strong and of a good courage: for unto this people shalt thou divide for an inheritance the land, which I sware unto their fathers to give them. JOSH 1:5-6
In our daily lives, a pep talk is when someone gives us a motivational speech to encourage us and build up our confidence when we're facing a difficult task or challenge. The speaker reminds us of our strengths and abilities, assures us that we have what it takes to succeed, and urges us to keep pressing forward even when the going gets tough.
This is exactly the kind of pep talk God gave Joshua as he prepared to lead the Israelites into the Promised Land. Joshua was tasked with conquering fortified cities and battling giants like the Anakites, not an easy job by any means! But God knew Joshua had what it takes. He reminded Joshua of His promise to be with him and never leave him. God assured Joshua of His strength and power that would help him succeed. This pep talk from the Lord encouraged Joshua to boldly lead with courage, knowing God would give him victory if he relied on Him.
When we face modern day "giants" like difficult problems at work, strained relationships, or challenges in our health, God still wants to give us His pep talk. Through His word, He reminds us of His faithful presence and strength. He assures us that if we trust in Him, we can conquer the obstacles before us. Be encouraged! With God on your side, you have what it takes to slay your giants and inherit every promise. You've got this!

The Circus Phil 2:3 #nightlight #RTTBROS
The Circus Phil 2:3 #nightlight #RTTBROS
Philippians 2:3 - Do nothing from selfishness or empty conceit, but with humility of mind regard one another as more important than yourselves.
Katharine Hepburn’s childhood, in her own words.
“Once when I was a teenager, my father and I were standing in line to buy tickets for the circus.
Finally, there was only one other family between us and the ticket counter. This family made a big impression on me.
There were eight children, all probably under the age of 12. The way they were dressed, you could tell they didn't have a lot of money, but their clothes were neat and clean.
The children were well-behaved, all of them standing in line, two-by-two behind their parents, holding hands. They were excitedly jabbering about the clowns, animals, and all the acts they would be seeing that night. By their excitement you could sense they had never been to the circus before. It would be a highlight of their lives.
The father and mother were at the head of the pack standing proud as could be. The mother was holding her husband's hand, looking up at him as if to say, "You're my knight in shining armour." He was smiling and enjoying seeing his family happy.
The ticket lady asked the man how many tickets he wanted? He proudly responded, "I'd like to buy eight children's tickets and two adult tickets, so I can take my family to the circus." The ticket lady stated the price.
The man's wife let go of his hand, her head dropped, the man's lip began to quiver. Then he leaned a little closer and asked, "How much did you say?" The ticket lady again stated the price.
The man didn't have enough money. How was he supposed to turn and tell his eight kids that he didn't have enough money to take them to the circus?
Seeing what was going on, my dad reached into his pocket, pulled out a $20 bill, and then dropped it on the ground. (We were not wealthy in any sense of the word!) My father bent down, picked up the $20 bill, tapped the man on the shoulder and said, "Excuse me, sir, this fell out of your pocket."
The man understood what was going on. He wasn't begging for a handout but certainly appreciated the help in a desperate, heartbreaking and embarrassing situation.
He looked straight into my dad's eyes, took my dad's hand in both of his, squeezed tightly onto the $20 bill, and with his lip quivering and a tear streaming down his cheek, he replied; "Thank you, thank you, sir. This really means a lot to me and my family."
My father and I went back to our car and drove home. The $20 that my dad gave away is what we were going to buy our own tickets with.
Although we didn't get to see the circus that night, we both felt a joy inside us that was far greater than seeing the circus could ever provide.
That day I learnt the value to Give.
The Giver is bigger than the Receiver. If you want to be large, larger than life, learn to Give. Love has nothing to do with what you are expecting to get - only with what you are expecting to give - which is everything.
The importance of giving, blessing others can never be over emphasised because there's always joy in giving. Learn to make someone happy by acts of giving.”
~ Katharine Hepburn

911 Jer 33:3 #nightlight #RTTBROS
911 Jer 33:3 #nightlight #RTTBROS
Call unto me, and I will answer thee, and shew thee great and mighty things, which thou knowest not
The book of Jeremiah contains many encouragements from God to His people. In chapter 33 verse 3, God invites His followers to "Call unto me, and I will answer thee, and shew thee great and mighty things, which thou knowest not." This has been nicknamed "God's phone number" because it is an open invitation to connect with Him, ask questions, and receive wisdom.
When we are going through difficult times, God wants us to turn to Him. He cares about our problems and wants to guide us. Calling out to God in prayer is like dialing a direct line to speak with Him personally. He promises that when we do this in faith, He will answer and reveal things to us that we could not know on our own.
Prayer is powerful because it taps us into the knowledge and perspective of an all-knowing, all-loving God. He sees the full picture when our vision is limited. He knows what lies ahead when the future is uncertain to us. God's vantage point is far greater, like the difference between seeing from the valley floor compared to seeing from the summit of a mountain.
God also wants to reveal more of Himself to us when we seek Him in prayer. As we build a relationship with Him, He shows us more of who He is. The deeper our connection with God, the greater our awareness of His presence and work in our lives. Talking and listening to God is the pathway to knowing Him in a personal, intimate way.
The next time you are facing uncertainty or need wisdom, remember God's open invitation in Jeremiah 33:3. Call out to Him in prayer with your questions and concerns. Wait patiently for His answers as you reflect on His Word. Expect Him to reveal His loving guidance to you in His perfect timing.
Jeremiah 33:3 gives us unlimited, direct access to speak with the all-knowing Creator of the universe. What an incredible privilege prayer is! God is eagerly waiting for us to call on Him so He can reveal His truth and love to transform our lives in amazing ways.

"There is no respect of persons with God." (Romans 2:11 KJV)
It's easy to want God to treat us like a favorite child - to bend reality for our comfort and convenience. But Scripture tells us clearly that God does not play favorites. He cares more about our character than our comfort.
God wants what is best for each of us, and often that involves challenges that shape our faith and reliance on Him. The easy road rarely leads to growth. When we go through trials, we can be assured that God has allowed these not because He loves us any less, but precisely because He loves us so much.
Our calling is not to demand God's favor, but to live for His glory. Surrendering our will to His perfect plan requires trust that He sees a bigger picture. God may not change the circumstances, but He can change us through the circumstances. The more we yield to Him, the more He will shape us into Christ's image - His true heart's desire for each of His children.
On this day, may we rest in the Father's unbiased, unwavering love, trusting that He knows exactly what we need to become all He has planned for us to be. Our circumstances are not a reflection of His love, but His love can shine through any circumstance if we let Him work in us.

"But grow in grace, and in the knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. To him be glory both now and for ever. Amen." - 2 Peter 3:18 (KJV)
Regardless of the chaos happening around us, our first responsibility as Christians is growing in our relationship with Christ. When Peter wrote this verse, he was referring to end times and trials. Yet his solution was not to focus on external circumstances but to grow internally in grace and knowledge of Jesus.
Grace comes through humility and surrender to God. When we admit our weaknesses and rely fully on Him, He gives us the grace to follow Him. Knowledge is gained by studying Christ and developing maturity in our faith. But both require an intentional investment of time seeking the Lord rather than being distracted by problems around us.
Even for non-believers, personal growth is often the answer to life's issues. Secular counseling encourages self-improvement strategies. But as Christians, we have access to a supernatural Helper who transforms us from within. He can bring peace and stability no matter what storms rage without.
The key is cultivating intimacy with God. By praying, studying the Word, fellowshipping with other believers, and practicing spiritual disciplines, we deepen our relationship with Him. Our trials become opportunities to know Christ better, developing godly character, wisdom, and endurance.
As the world grows more troubled, we must firmly anchor ourselves in Jesus. He reminds us that trials are temporary but staying close to Him brings eternal rewards. When we seek God first, external pressures and demands become secondary. Our focus shifts from anxiety over circumstances to awe of the One who holds the universe in His hands.
Let's follow Peter's advice. No matter how chaotic the world becomes, keep pursuing personal growth in the grace and knowledge of Jesus above all else. He will fill us with His peace and use our lives to glorify Him.

Overcoming Temptation's Sneak Attack
"Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices." - 2 Corinthians 2:11 (KJV)
Ol' slewfoot sure has some sneaky strategies when it comes to temptation, doesn't he? That devil loves to mess with our thought lives first, getting our minds all wrapped up and tangled before he springs the physical trap. As Martin Luther used to say, "you can't keep the birds from flying over your head, but you can keep them from building a nest in your hair." Temptation often starts as a little thought that don't seem so bad. But left unchecked, those thoughts become a stronghold, softening us up for the real attack.
Take lust, for example. The temptation begins as a wandering eye and sinful imagination. But soon those impure thoughts pave the way for far worse transgressions. As Adrian Rogers would say, "what you watch is what you become." The thought life is ground zero in the battle against temptation. If we allow the serpent's seeds to take root in our minds, the fruit will be rotten, for sure.
But don't get discouraged, child of God. The old preachers used to say "sin will keep you from the Bible, or the Bible will keep you from sin." Fill your mind with the Word and wisdom of the Lord, and it'll crowd out the enemy's schemes. Stay vigilant against those sneaky thought-traps and you'll avoid the snares that follow. We may not be ignorant of Satan's devices, but we sure can be informed and prepared through Scripture. Don't let down your guard, folks. Temptation is always lurking, ready for a sneak attack. But with the Holy Spirit's help, we can spot those fiery darts coming from a mile away and stomp them out for good! Amen? Amen!

Wounded Or Wise James 1:1-5 #Nightlight #RTTBROS
Wounded Or Wise James 1:1-5 #Nightlight #RTTBROS
1 James, a servant of God and of the Lord Jesus Christ, to the twelve tribes which are scattered abroad, greeting. 2 My brethren, count it all joy when ye fall into divers temptations; 3 Knowing this, that the trying of your faith worketh patience. 4 But let patience have her perfect work, that ye may be perfect and entire, wanting nothing. 5 If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him. James 1:1-5
Whenever something hurts you you have a choice you can either become wounded or you can become wise. Think of Joseph here in the Old Testament he was the favored son of his father but hated of his brothers because of that. As a result of this negative Dynamic Joseph ended up being severely mistreated by his brothers he was beaten put into a pit sold into slavery and even within Egypt he suffered at the whims of others. He had a choice he could either become wounded or wise he chose wisdom and in so doing he saved the nation that he was living in from a famine. So the wicked thing that was done to him was transformed into a life-saving Act of God.
In life there's no shortage of painful situations. Our choices are the same as Joseph's choices we can either choose to be wounded or to be wise we can allow the pain to make us bitter or make us better we can either be a victim or a victor depending on how we choose to view the pain inducing incident in our lives.
I think maybe the practical application to this concept is when we find ourselves confronted with pain is to ask different questions. For example we tend to ask why me, which is normal to feel when pain strikes. Instead we need to find out what is God doing in this situation. So a better question might be God what should I do next, how can you get great Glory out of this situation?
