Make War No More
"From whence come wars and fightings among you? come they not hence, even of your lusts that war in your members?" - James 4:1
Throughout history, there have been many stupid wars that have been fought. Wars like "The War of the Whiskers," "The War of the Oaken Bucket," and "The War of Jenkins' Ear." These wars were fought over trivial things and resulted in the loss of many lives.
James asks the question, "From whence come wars and fightings among you?" The answer is simple: they come from our own lusts and desires. We want what we want, and we are willing to fight for it. But when we surrender to God unconditionally, we no longer feel compelled to be at war with each other.
When we surrender to God, we realize that our desires are not as important as we thought they were. We begin to see things from His perspective, and we understand that there are more important things in life than getting our own way.
We also begin to see others as God sees them. We realize that they are not our enemies, but our brothers and sisters. We begin to love them as God loves them, and we no longer feel the need to fight with them.
Draw near to God, surrender your pride to him and find a peace that passes understanding will now guard you heart and mind.
